Soul (2020 film)

Soul is a 2020 American computer-animated comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for distribution by Walt Disney Pictures. The film stars the voices of Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. It was released on Disney+ on Christmas Day 2020, and then on DVD March 23, 2021. Soul was later released in theaters on January 12, 2024, paired with a short film, Burrow, which was released with Soul on Disney+ in 2020.

[laughs, to Joe]

Jerry: No, this isn't the Great Beyond. It's the Great Before. This is where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth.

22: [to Joe] Don't worry, they're fine. You can't crush a soul here. That's what life on Earth is for.

Joe: You know, I don’t really have time for a relationship right now.

22: Oh yeah? Busy now? Wanna wait until you die a second time?

Joe: Ha ha. I can’t believe I’m taking romantic advice from an unborn soul.

22: I can think of worse.

22: Maybe sky-watching can be my spark. Or even walking! I’m really good at walking!

Joe: [disapprovingly] That’s just regular old living.

Dorothea Williams: What's wrong, Teach?

Joe: It's just that, I've been waiting on this day for... my entire life. I thought I'd feel different.

Dorothea: I heard this story about a fish. He swims up to this older fish and says, "I'm trying to find this thing they call 'The Ocean.'" "The Ocean?" says the older fish, "That's what you're in right now." "This?" says the younger fish, "This is water. What I want is The Ocean." See you tomorrow.
