Please be aware that these pages aren't the place to bring disputes over content or requests for a mediation between another editor and you — we aren't referees. You are better to talk with that editor by mail or on talk, or ask other editors their opinion on Village pump.

The chief purpose of this page is to allow admins to ask each other for help and/or information, to communicate ideas, and for admin talk to happen.

However, any user of Wikiquote may post here. Admins are not a club of elites, but normal editors with some additional technical abilities. Anyone is free to use it to talk to admins as a group. Please feel free to leave a message.

If there is another page which is a more natural location for the discussion of a particular point, please start the discussion there, and only put a short note of the issue, and a link to the relevant location, on this page. Put another way, to the extent possible, discussions are better off held somewhere else, and announced here. This will avoid spreading discussion of one topic over several pages (thereby making them harder to follow), and also reduce the rate of changes to this page.

Long term abuse at Akhtar Aly Kureshy

Dear admins, I suggest you check the edit history of this page. Many globally locked users (w:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jinnahpk) have been involved in this article, and their long-term cross-wiki persistence allows me to think that this is one kind of advertisement. Is it OK to keep such an article, or should it go for VFD? MathXplore (talk) 01:41, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

Buzz Lightyear: Attack on Zurg

I am requesting deletion be applied to this article because it does not exist on Wikipedia. The IP address who created the page has also left a message on the talk page saying "It doesn't have to be on Wikipedia!". 03isrflo62410 (talk) 02:09, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

The content also appears to be somewhat fanmade because the IP address is claiming this is "his own prequel to The Adventure Begins". 03isrflo62410 (talk) 02:10, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

Request for protection at User talk:Ser Amantio di Nicolao

I hate to be a bother and to ask this, but I'm nearing the end of my rope. Long story short: I'm being repeatedly harassed on my talk page by an IP pest that has followed me over from English Wikipedia. My repeated attempts at telling this person off have been to no avail. Can I request, please, that my talkpage be protected from IP editing at least for a few months? Thanks very much. --Ser Amantio di Nicolao (talk) 12:32, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

"It was a contest I was taking part."

I just unblocked a new account I had blocked for repeated and rapid edits to "SheSaid" pages -- all of these edits were replacing English language text of the quotes and summary with what Google Translate tells me was the Twi language. The editor said these edits were part of "a contest." All were tagged in the summary with #SheSaid.

If contests bring inexperienced though well-meaning editors here to make rapidfire edits, let's keep an eye out for contests in Recent Changes, possibly by looking for edit-summary tags aimed at the contest. HouseOfChange (talk) 14:24, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
