The opposite view is totally missing edit

This article might be interesting, but it is too biased. The opposite view is missing to such a point that it is historically inaccurate, it can't be educative in this way. - —This unsigned comment is by WornOutCog (talkcontribs) .

Quotes from the Topeka Brown v. Board case heard in the District Court edit

I'm really unfamiliar with Wikiquote, so I'll just present my proposed additions (please excuse my commentary).

This first quote truly comes across as inspirational... explaining the flaw with "Separate but equal":

  • “Not only I and my children are craving light—the entire colored race is craving light. And the only way to reach the light is to start our children together in their infancy and they come up together.” — Silas Fleming

The second quote explains the inspired strategy that was really the crux of the Topeka case:

  • “[The] Topeka plaintiffs would admit (for the sake of argument) that there was no inequality between the black and white schools involved. The court’s decision would thus have to be rendered on the simple, basic issue of segregation: what harm it did the children who were subjected to it, and what rights were violated by imposing it.” — Janet Stevenson
