Actual source of "secrets of finding time" quotation?
editI noticed that the quotation "One of the big secrets of finding time is not to watch television." is sourced to a New York Times obituary article on Keeshan. Does anybody know the actual source of this quotation? Some interview from years back, or maybe his biography? I had seen the line attributed to him on IMDB, but IMDB is notorious for not having much sourcing on their quotations, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people running articles on his death just blindly copied whatever stuff they found on-line like this. - Geezerbill What are you asking for? According to the information in the New York Times, it came from a question posed to him presumably by one of the NYT writers. Is that what you wanted to know? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 09:44, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- Severo, Richard (23 January 2004). Bob Keeshan, Who Played Captain Kangaroo on TV, Is Dead at 76. The New York Times. Archived from the original on 16 March 2014. Retrieved on 22 October 2007. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 09:52, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- OK, I see it now at the very end of that article. The context that they put it in makes it sound more credible than I suspected. Thanks! Geezerbill (talk) 21:02, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- I turned the link into a reference, with the full context of the answer quoted. It seems that a number of the quotations from Keeshan come from the same article, so maybe some clean-up is in order here. After seeing different pages handle the sourcing differently, I'm honestly not sure anymore what the "right" was is to this. Geezerbill (talk) 21:17, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
