edit- It is said that in the final days of planet Earth, everyone had bad dreams. To the west of the north of that world, the human race did gather, in the celebration of a pagan rite to banish the cold and the dark. Each and everyone of those people had dreamt of the terrible things to come, but they forgot … because they must. They forgot their nightmares of fire and war and insanity. They forgot, except for one...

- And so it came to pass that the players took their final places, making ready the events that were to come. The madman sat in his empire of dust and ashes, little knowing of the glory he would achieve, while his saviour looked upon the wilderness, in the hope of changing his inevitable fate. Far away, the idiots and fools dreamt of a shining new future - a future now doomed to never happen. As Earth rolled onwards into night, the people of that world did sleep and shiver, somehow knowing that dawn would bring only one thing… The final day!

- And so it came to pass on Christmas Day, that the human race did cease to exist. But even then, the Master had no concept of his role in greater events. For this was far more than humanity's end! This was the day upon which the whole of creation would change forever! This was the day... the Time Lords returned. For Gallifrey! … For victory! … For the end of Time itself!

Dialogue
editThe End of Time, Part 2 [4.18]
edit- (1 January 2010)
- The Master: But, this is fantastic, isn't it? The Time Lords restored!
- The Doctor: You weren't there, in the final days of the War. You never saw what was born. But if the Time Lock's broken, then everything's coming through. Not just the Daleks, but the Skaro Degradations, the Horde of Travesties, the Nightmare Child, the Could-Have-Been-King with his army of Meanwhiles and Neverweres; the War turned into Hell! And that's what you've opened, right above the Earth! Hell is descending!
- The Master: [delighted] My kind of world.
- The Doctor: Just listen! 'Cause even the Time Lords can't survive that!
- Rassilon: We will initiate the Final Sanction. The End of Time will come, at my hand. The rupture will continue until it rips the time vortex apart!
- The Master: That's suicide!
- Rassilon: We will ascend, to become creatures of conciousness alone - free of these bodies, free of time, and cause and effect - while creation itself ceases to be.
- The Doctor: You see now? That's what they were planning, in the final days of the War. I had to stop them.
- The Master: Then take me with you, Lord President. Let me ascend into glory!
- Rassilon: [disgusted] You are diseased - albeit a disease of our own making. No more... [As Rassilon raises his gauntlet, the Doctor aims his gun] Choose your enemy well. We are many; the Master is but one.
- The Master: But he's the President. Kill him and Gallifrey could be yours! [The Doctor spins and aims at the Master] HE'S TO BLAME, NOT ME! [realises] Oh. The link is inside my head. Kill me, the link gets broken, they go back. [hatefully] You never would, you coward. [afraid, as the Doctor continues to aim at him] Go on, then. Do it! [after a tense silence, the Doctor turns and aims at Rassilon again] Exactly! It's not just me, it's him! He's the link! Kill him!
- Rassilon: [with cruel satisfaction] The final act of your life is murder. But which one of us?
- [The Doctor is torn between killing Rassilon and the Master to save the world. But then one of Rassilon's fellow Time Lords reveals her face to him, glancing towards the Master. Making his choice, the Doctor aims at him again]
- The Doctor: [to the Master] Get out of the way.
- [The Master glances behind him in realization, and with a slight smile, does so. The Doctor shoots the machinery that was behind him]
- The Doctor: The link is broken! Back into the Time War, Rassilon! Back into Hell!
- The Visionary: [voice-over] Gallifrey falls! Gallifrey falls!
- Rassilon: [hatefully] You die with me, Doctor!
- The Doctor: I know.
- [Rassilon raises his gauntlet. The Doctor does not move, prepared to accept the mortal attack, when the Master suddenly stands up behind him]
- The Master: [to the Doctor] Get out of the way.
- [The Doctor leaps clear as the Master shoots lightning at Rassilon]
- The Master: [enraged] You did this to me! All of my life! You made me! [the Master begins to become critically unstable] One! Two! Three! Four! [The Master and the Time Lords fade to white. Gallifrey fades out of the sky.]
- The Doctor: [stunned, then tearful] I'm alive! I've... That was... I'm still alive!
- (15 December 2017)
- Rassilon: So where is he? Where has the Doctor gone?
- Ohila: Back to the beginning, I should think.
- Rassilon: The Sisterhood of Karn has no business in this chamber. Or on this planet!
- Ohila: I heard the Doctor had come home. One so loves fireworks.
- Rassilon: What's his plan?
- Ohila: I think he's finishing his soup.
- Rassilon: Who the hell does he think he is?!
- The General: The man who won the Time War, sir.
- Rassilon: What is he doing? What does he want? Revenge?
- Ohila: The Doctor does not blame Gallifrey for the horrors of the Time War.
- Rassilon: I should hope not.
- Ohila: He just blames you.
- Rassilon: You have nothing, Doctor. Nothing! Do you know what I have out here, in the drylands where there's nobody who matters? No witnesses.
- The Doctor: Me too.
- Rassilon: Take aim! Aim at the Doctor. Fire on my command!
- The General: Sir?
- Rassilon: Step forward... and take aim! What's the matter with you?!
- The General: Lord President, he's a war hero. Some of these men served with him--!
- Rassilon: These men serve me!
- Gastron: There was a saying, sir, in the Time War.
- Rassilon: A saying?
- Gastron: First thing you notice about the Doctor of War is he's unarmed. For many, it's also the last.
- Rassilon: I am Rassilon, the Redeemer! Rassilon the Resurrected! Gallifrey... is mine!
- The General: Lord President, with respect, get off his planet.
