Christ was the greatest artist because his medium was the human flesh edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Christ was the greatest artist because his medium was the human flesh, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but it may not satisfy Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, for the reasons given in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy).

You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ~ Ningauble (talk) 12:06, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I can't understand why you would want to remove a famous quote like this -- the author is William Blake, and it is easily looked up. I don't have time to read all these rules and regulations. But I assure you that you can find this quote in any book like "The Complete William Blake"! It makes it very hard for others to edit Wikipedia or Wikiquotes when the hawks are always ready to pounce and remove anything that doesn't conform exactly to the rules I didn't help make. There are only seven hits at Google for this exact quote (apparently they are mostly your own or based on your enquiry) so it does not appear to be a famous quote; and there are zero hits at Google Books, so I doubt it is an accurate one. It is certainly not, as you say, easily looked up.

It may be true that some of the rules and regulations are obscure, but this one is easy to understand: Please cite your source. ~ Ningauble (talk) 16:34, 25 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
