The Suffering: Ties That Bind

Thanks - yes I've been watching this (and deleting it a couple of times when it was lacking any real content). I do believe that it is a legitimate page, and I have moved it to the proper title, added an intro and a cat, but also added stub & cleanup tags. ~ UDScott 15:56, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removal of CSD.

edit

I previously got Sivaji: The Boss deleted. But now the film is coming out in 16 days, so I have added Punch lines to the quotations from the audio soundtrack for the film which came out on April 2, 2007. I have provided tamil (in english letters), as well as an english translation. I will be adding a HUGE amount of quotations when the film hits the screens. Vagish 19:02, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

hello Herbythyme. I updated the wolf3d page heavily in order to prevent it from deletion. check it out. you can change your vote if you'd like. - Zarbon 19:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just gotta say that I found this statement hilariously comical. However I didn't even know the article was deleted. just now did I find out. A Link to the Past 18:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations, you are now an administrator here at WIkiquote. ~ Kalki 23:58, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think that the fact we took less than 24 hours to approve you after you cancelled your withdrawl suggests the great desire we had to add you the ranks of Wikiquote sysops. Thanks for reconsidering, and congratulations! ~ Jeff Q (talk) 01:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well I went and poked some stewards..... The tools are "broken" today! I've tidied the page, the request is very valid (IMO) and getting more so. If nothing happens in a day or so nudge me again if I forget and I'll try again, regards --Herby talk thyme 12:14, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

BTW I archived the Poetlister one while I was there. It "cleaned" the page up and it looks sort of dead for now. Stewards are doing some now so I'll keep you posted if I see anything, regards --Herby talk thyme 17:53, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll try again tomorrow Jeff - regards --Herby talk thyme 15:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for looking into this. I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner, but between my real-world activities and so many Wikimedia things happpening this week, I've been rather preoccupied. But as soon as someone responds to my request, I plan to take swift action. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 02:19, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser...

edit

I've nominated you here. Will {talk) 17:48, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have received your message, but I have to go now. I will vote later. As of now, I am also preparing myself to eventually run for adminship here. Do you think that I am ready for it?--Jusjih 16:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have voted for two checkuser candidates. Since I see you declining the nomination for checkuser here, I cannot vote for you now. Otherwise, I would support. If anyone would like to nominate me for adminship here, I would accept. Otherwise, I plan to apply myself soon. For your information, using the same username, I am an admin at nine Wiki sites.--Jusjih 16:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the tip on Special:DeletedContributions! Not a week goes by that I haven't wished for this. (It's daily or even hourly during the march of the sockpuppets.) ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:26, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

X-Men: The Last Stand

edit

I just recently moved this page to X-Men - The Last Stand The former was creating a new "Namespace" called X-Men which IMHO wasn't appropriate. Would the former be appropriate for deletion or ok as a redirect?

If the move was inappropriate, please feel free to revert it and let me know. Thanks master sonT - C 01:52, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! :)

edit

No worries, dear Herby :) And thank you so much for your kind words, and for the invitation to take part at that discussion! Indeed, I'm aware of its importance, and the meaning it has in our future development here, which is the reason why I decided to comment on it a few days ago. This is also an excellent oportunity to say hi to you, and to tell you I'm happy to work with an excellent editor like you - I have certainly noticed your excellent work here, and if you let me, I'll bother you every time I'm in doubt regarding the WQ practices! ;) Fortunately, I'm slowly but steadily learning the ropes, tho I'm far from your levels of expertise yet... this is certainly a wonderful project, with much beautiful work to do. Have a beautiful day! Love Phaedriel - 17:19, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry

edit

Thought I would try and work out how it was done! --Herby talk thyme 12:52, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I'm sorry. I hate to interfere with folks tackling new chores (or at least new for the project). But I was (am) in such a hurry, agreed with you and Poetlister that the VfD closures were quite overdue, and didn't know that you'd take a shot at it. When I get back later today (and hopefully with my home/computer problems over), I'll answer any questions and give you some tips if you like. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 12:59, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Let me know...

edit

Hi Herbythyme :) As I start doing some work here, I'm likely to make a some errors. Please let me know (if you have time) if you see something I've done wrong. Although a newbie, I prefer to hear about my mistakes sooner rather than later so I don't form bad habits. That goes for everything from (im)proper formating pages to wacked thoughts in discussions. Thnaks in advance for any advise or help. FloNight 15:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Username blacklist

edit

Hello Herby. I figure you're the person to contact about a recent change to the username blacklist. The allowed length is currently no more than 29 characers, but another Wikimedian would like to create an account here which is 32 characters long. I'd be grateful if you could raise the limit by a few characters to make it possible for him to use the same username across projects. Cheers. -- Michael Billington 07:55, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

My IP was accused of being a crosswiki vandal on Meta, but I know exactly what accounts are coming from it as it's my computer that has this IP! (m:Requests for Checkuser information#82.42.237.84@akwikibooks and kwwiktionary).

I'm not a crosswiki vandal, just trying to help on Wikimedia projects... --SunStar Net 20:36, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Steward elections

edit

I am baffled. Is there a law I don't know about that forbids criticism of Lar? I made a vote in good faith, since when I have had a stream of messages and e-mails saying I should not have made that vote. And now I've had one on Wikiquote! OK, can you assure me that Lar has had nothing to do with the campaign formerly led by Durova that has led to the block of at least one innocent person(!!) and probably others?--Cato 21:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Have you messaged the others who have voted against Lar? Incidentally, Cary Bass has made no attempt to answer my question.--Cato 21:19, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy policy

edit

Take for example the case of Dave Chapman, which is a self-post. I proposed that it be speedied because of the unremarkable subject. Now, since this was a self-post, the creator is likely to dispute the charge that he's unremarkable, though I don't believe anyone else would. Is the potential for this dispute enough to warrant a VFD? (I assume he would remove a {{prod}} though I could be wrong). --Ubiquity 22:05, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

My thanks to all

edit

I regret that I find myself in a position where I am now unable to be as active here as I would wish. Equally since I became an admin here a number of other users have been given admin rights and the threat from vandals is less than it was. As such I am requesting the removal of my sysop rights on this wiki as I have rather strong views about inactive admins. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 13:22, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
