edit'Life should be deemed as a series of tests; each separated by a period of reflection and revision for the next. When one makes a wrong judgement, a simple mistake, they may feel as though they have failed either in that respected area of life or failed life completely. However what many do not realise is that life is a series of tests, and you can not dwell on the last test forever as sure enough the next one will arrive. But most importantly, life is a series of tests with unlimited re-sits, each of which you can learn from'- Thomas J. Cairney 20th February 2007

I have seen a quote by him misattributed to Steve Carell and others many times across the web. It's ridiculous that there's no page for him on here, all there is is The Ricky Gervais Show and its related pages, which doesn't list his personal quotes, just what he, Stephen Merchant, and Karl Pilkington said together on the show. I honestly believe that the lack of a personal page for Ricky Gervais is causing this quote to be misattributed way more than it would be if this were fixed. This is where I usually go to verify quotes and the quote wasn't here because the place to enter it doesn't exist. That sucks. Ricky Gervais probably says a bunch of funny and insightful stuff on his own, when he's not on the show. Because there is no Ricky Gervais page, none of that stuff is on this site. How does he not have his own page? Anyway, here's the quote: “Steve Carell has quoted Ricky Gervais as saying, ‘If you don’t know a Michael Scott, then you are a Michael Scott,’ ” |

One book that caught my attention: Indaba, My Children An excerpt from its introduction (full paragraphs 1, 2, and 5 on page xix):
I hope I'm not in trouble… Aung San Suu Kyi's Freedon from Fear had me get started as an influencing factor. --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 13:28, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
<ref>Conquer yourself</ref>“You should not worry when others don’t understand you, instead when, you don’t understand yourself”, once correctly remarked by a great personality. When we try to define ‘SELF’ along with the values that we uphold, we usually come across a related term success. Conquering oneself is like crossing one’s escape velocity after which all the efforts turn into perfection. For a person to be successful, analytical mind, observing nature, patience sustenance and out of box thinking are essential traits. Altogether, these qualities creates a magic wand…One have to recognise innate talent and capabilities for setting up personal goals, to be followed by determination and preservation. It can be achieved through self introspection and monitoring. One can observe oneself and record thoughts occupying predominantly during wakeful hours which in turn influence one’s actions subconsciously. It will develop great confidence and conviction in decisions as one move ahead. That’s all what is required for an accomplished living. The thing that is even worse than quitting or failing is being complacent and underestimation of one’s abilities. “I can’t do it”, these are the worlds four most dangerous words which have to be replaced by “I will do it”. These four incanted words are not a thought process but a strong belief that can lead to development of successful personality which in turn can develop attitude. We must hold on long enough to make our dreams come true because often times the path to success is a long road and for that it is important to stick to what is true and flick a toggle switch of our courage, efforts and talent. We need to wake up, know our limits and talent. After retrospection about these features, one should set an achievable aim for oneself and think beyond unimpeachable. It’s not necessary to hit the bull’s eye, but it is mandatory to go for it if we need unmitigated success. We must quash all the shortcuts and past failure to reach an unprecedented and unrelenting aim. Success starts when one starts finding oneself, so always try to polish and chisel till one get it perfect. After knowing oneself even if one fail, their efforts are revitalised and quantised like a bowman pulling out arrow from his quiver that is revived after being suppressed once. Instead of thinking about the times of failure, one should think of finding new ways to achieve one’s aim where every effort must be biddably coupled after every step of failure. We should think of every positive experience and outcome of life and see how they add up. Trust in one’s capabilities and calibre can help to entrench one’s effort more enthusiastically and self sufficiently. Keeping all these things in mind, never allow your confidence to go beyond limits, because after that it will converge into a devil called “overconfidence” that will degrade one’s calibre and lengthen the path to success. So after having faith and belief in oneself, one can expect others to believe in them. After every step towards achievement of goal, will make us more happier than ever before. |

"...evolution is an infinitely variable development of learning and cognition as well as of the acquisition of true love, knowledge and wisdom. And this process is granted to all coarse-matter life forms, as well as to all the domains of the spirit forms in their pure spirit-energy levels." Billy, Contact Report 228, May 1989 And the keystone of my thoughts is that the whole splendor of the world and the universe creates infinitely much joy, happiness and harmony within me in such a way that I linger in highest respect for the tremendous Creational display of splendor and love in reverential, silent devotion. Billy, Silent Devotion, 23rd January, 2005 True love, namely, surpasses all love which is thought-feeling generated, which, as a rule, only exhausts itself in degenerated emotions. Billy, A Little Bit of Knowledge, Sense, and Wisdom What is so bad about becoming old then? Aging is not important, but rather how and what the human lives, what he makes out of his life, what good and positive as well as humane things he does and what he does in regard to being a human, how high he develops his consciousness, how positive and good he is, how he associates with the fauna and flora and how he treats, values, reveres and loves his fellow human. Therefore, what matters to the human is, in fact, not so much how long he walks the earth because what counts is all that which he achieves and accomplishes during his existence. Billy, Aging |

Google comes up with practically zilch on this aphorist(?) who appears in ancient Murphy's quotelists, e.g. this. His quotes are also referenced in Stephen Spanoudis's site from 1994, the earliest I could find.
As these quotes are certainly out of character with Arabic scholar C.J. Lyall or any others on the disambiguation pages, this is now linked to the anonymous section of Wikiquote unless revelations abound.--Lmstearn (talk) 04:55, 5 June 2016 (UTC) Did you check the RME files [...DOS/HOME/MURPHY] that accompany the quotelist referenced in your link? In brief, I do not believe - to change the metaphor - that they who, in our time, have wedded their lives to art have clasped to their breasts a lovely but lifeless corpse. To the very young then, I would fain offer one or two matters for thought, if, perchance, they will hearken to one who has grown old in unwavering sympathy with their struggles and doubts. I would beg them to keep ever before their eyes the vital truth that sincerity is the well-spring of all lasting achievement, and that no good thing ever took root in untruth or self-deception. I would urge them to remember that if every excellent work is stamped with the personality of its author, no work can be enduring that is stamped with a borrowed stamp; and that, therefore, their first duty is to see that the thoughts, the emotions, the impressions they fix on he canvas are in very truth their own thoughts, their own emotions, their own spontaneous impressions, and not those of others: for work that does not spring from the heart has no roots, and will of certainty wither and perish. The other maxim also I would urge on them - that true genius knows no hurry, that patience is of its essence, and thoroughness its constant mark; and, lastly, I would ask them to believe that the gathered experience of past ages is a precious heritage and not an irksome load; and that nothing will fortify them better for the future, and free development, than the reverent and loving study of the past." |

Feat: Defence of the Toledo fortress The defense of the Toledo fortress was during the civil Spanish war (1936-1939), 21 July 1936 to 27 September 1936. The most remarkable fact was the conversation betwen Moscardó general (national side) and Cándido Cabello (republic side), it was this: Cándido Cabello: You are responsibility of the crimes and of all that is happening in Toledo, and I give you a period of 10 minutes for that surrender the fortress, if you don´t do it, we will execute by firearm to your son that I have close to me. Coronel Moscardó: I believe you! Chief of the militias: And for that you could believe it, now he will take the phone. Luis Moscardó Guzmán: Father! Coronel Moscardó: My child, how´s things? Luis Moscardó Guzmán: Nothing, that they said that they will be executed me by firearm if the fortress won´t surrender, but you don´t worry for my. Coronel Moscardó: this is true you have to entrust your soul to God, shout a: live Christ the King and Spain, and you will be able to hero that will dead for these. Goodbye, my child, a very strong kiss! Luis Moscardó Guzmán: Goodbye, father, a very strong kiss! Cándido Cabello took another time the phone. Coronel Moscardó: You can save the term that you gave me and executed to my son, because the fortress will never surrender. (Luis Moscardó Guzmán died 23 August 1936 a the outskirts of Toledo) |

I was the treasurer who opened the safe, made payments to people, or issued donations to the needy. I would read from a list and he would say give so and so this amount and tell so and so to come back some other time.”

Ramon Andres Quevedo
editGood afternoon,
A former teacher of mine, Ramon A. Qeuevedo, that worked at Bebensee Elementary in Arlington, TX would say, "Of course you don't know it, it is called learning. if you knew it, it would be called review.". or "of course you don't know it, it is called learning. if you already knew it, it would be called review." I see that one version of this quote is listed in Quotepark.com and the quote is attributed to him. What can I do to include the quote here?
I believe he is now a Mathematics Teacher at Nichols Junior High School in Arlington, Texas.
Thank you, Gabby Estrada
