Eragon

edit

I'm afraid I felt it necessary to revert your mass change to Eragon, as it apparently replaced a substantial, mostly formatted article with a virtually unreadable set of material. Please do the following when editing Wikiquote articles:

  • Review the formatting guidelines provided in the links above, or at least look at similar articles before pasting something into an article. Wikiquote, like any other Wikimedia project, has its own set of guidelines that may differ from Wikipedia's, especially in formatting.
  • Do not just replace existing material with your text without justification in the edit summary or on the talk page. This is just as unfriendly here as it is on Wikipedia.
  • When transferring Wikipedia text, if you aren't going to use the Transwiki methodology, at least include an explicit link to the source WP article in the edit summary (e.g., "transferring quotes from w:Eragon") to provide a link back to Wikipedia, per Wikimedia and GFDL requirements.
  • Always preview your edit before saving it. This is even more necessary for Wikiquote than it is for Wikipedia, and it's excellent advice there as well, even for experience editors.

If you have any questions, please let me know. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 04:29, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
