Last words in Spider-Man media edit

I would like to warn you that the article you just created Last words in Spider-Man media is likely to nominated for deletion, probably via WQ:VFD, for failing WQ:Wikiquote:Quotability and other problems. I would not want you to be wasting your time in this way. While it may just be possible to create an article of this form in my opinion this effort falls far short of the required standard. I always recommend new users should concentrate on creating articles that can be very specifically and unambiguously associated with a single article in a one-to-one relationship with a mature and issue free article on the English Wikipedia. This is particularly due to the burden created on other editors fixing articles that do not meet this criteria. Having said all that the style / contributions on you have made are indicative of someone who has edited Wikiquote previously. Can I therefore ask if have you edited Wikiquote previously? Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 22:13, 17 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for letting me know about the situation with Last words in Spider-Man media. Yes, I have edited Wikiquote before and only recently decided to start editing with my Wikipedia account. With regard to the article I've created, I was wondering why it would fail Quotability. As of now, I've only quoted from the Spider-Man movies, but I can promise this article will expand in the future, to include also quotes from Spider-Man comics, cartoons, etc. In fact, I believe an article like this is accurate to what you call "very specifically and unambiguously associated with a single article in a one-to-one relationship with a mature and issue free article on the English Wikipedia."
Furthermore, in case you didn't see it, there are other media franchises whose articles in are shorter than the Spider-Man last words article as of now (e.g. Indiana Jones, Friday the 13th and Shrek). Like those of Batman and Superman, the Spider-Man franchise yields so many last words from various media, and thus such an article should not be nominated for deletion. However, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Please let me know if there will be any changes regarding this article. MC-123 (talk) 00:29, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'll essentially say that in my opinion thees dialog copies should be on a fansite that that Wikiquote, but I also leave that to the community to decide as VFD. I am opinionated these article these serve little value rexcept to the fan and to the article composer. And the non-fan reader (if any) may often be served with to link to verify the content. Thus is should be placed on a fansite. Its better you ask at the village pump for what is needed. The real purpose of my post above was to caution in putting in work that may be deleted. I will not be saying anything except via the VFD, if I elect to raise it. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 01:29, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I understand. Thank you for the heads up. MC-123 (talk) 01:32, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thankyou for your understanding. If I raise a VfD I do not know which way the result will go; but I feel appropriate to warn you of the risks. There's always more possibility of working with a logged in user than an anonymous IP hopper. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 01:41, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
