Luke Jedi Skywalker
Wikidata
editHi :) thanks for your contributions! When you create a page, it would be great if you could connect it on Wikidata. For example, when creating Sher Shah Suri you could go on the corresponding Wikidata item (see Sher Shah Suri on Wikipedia, on the left column, section "Tools", clic on "Wikidata item"), which is d:Q83680. Scroll down and edit the "Wikiquote" section, adding the new page ;) Of course it is not mandatory, but it would connect the page with all the other pages on the Wikimedia projects, otherwise it will extend the page Special:UnconnectedPages. Thank you, bye ;-) --Superchilum (talk) 14:17, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Superchilum :) Thanks for letting me know about this. I will take care about it now. --Luke Jedi Skywalker (talk) 17:04, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Proofread your source and make corrections
editCan you please be careful while you copy from Google Books? It seems you don't even make any extra effort to proofread your copied material personally from the book because I find multiple language errors in your articles as compared to book. For example Himun was written as HImUn on the article Hemu.
I have had to correct this on multiple articles after I find they've been linked on Wikipedia. I can't keep doing what you should do, so please proofread before you make an edit and make corrections where they are needed before saving. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 19:24, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. Thank you for your comment. It is true that there are issues when copying from some online sources especially online sources about ancient or medieval India. I have planned fixing these in a semi-automated way. But due to your comment I am doing it sooner now. Best regards. --Luke Jedi Skywalker (talk) 20:08, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know of any other way except to go inside the book and read the text personally after pasting, to find out the mistakes in the copied text. I do that too when I try to copy the texts. It may take time but the quotes should be kept clean of language errors. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 20:34, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- I have corrected some of the most common issues in many articles now, although there is more work to do. Many of the quotes are attributed to a secondary source ('quoted from' or 'as quoted in'), which means that the quotes are as they were found 'quoted from' that secondary source. This is standard practice in many wikiquote articles (although it is probably not best practice in most cases, it is still very common and standard practice on wikiquote). If the attribution is missing, I can add it, although I have seen that you removed the attribution in some articles [1]. But I agree that it is better practice to directly quote in most cases, and I plan to recheck my additions in this way, but obviously this takes time. --Luke Jedi Skywalker (talk) 21:29, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- That may be so but things like capitalised letters in between words often happen when it is being copied from the Google Books search page where the books and a small amount of book text shows up. I know because I have often faced such a similar situation. That is why I write it by hand sometimes. There may be some errors in the sources as well themselves, that is why I prefer to read the original sources if it's possible. I understand it takes time, but please do proofread. Copyright
editHello Luke, I am only here to caution you so any violation doesn't happen. Per WQ:COPYRIGHT if a large and substantial portion of the work is copied, it can fall under copyright violation. I have noticed that you tend to add some specific sources often like SR Goel or Koenraad Elst. I am not accusing you of any copyright violation, just cautioning in advance so you don't copy a huge portion of any of their specific work. As far as I know their copyright still hasn't expired nor the publisher released it in public domain. Sources like that of HM Elliot are in public domain since it's quite old. But as for rest, please be careful in advance not to copy a huge load of content even on separate articles. Even if the publishers or authors won't raise an objection, we still can't take chances. Hope you understand, thanks. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 07:06, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
