Wow, you're quick. Thanks for the improvments on the Artillery page. As I am fairly new to wikiquote, I have a question for you. Is it preferable to link to a wikiquote page or a wikipedia page for the individuals making the quotes? For example should the Patton quote link to George_S._Patton or George_S._Patton? Cheers. In general, if the person in question has a page on wikiquote, we link to that. If they do not (and it is not likely that they ever will, it's fine to link to wikipedia). But if it seems likely that they may someday have a page on wikiquote (in other words if it seems likely that the person has said enough notable things, and enough valid sourced quotes could eventually be placed on a page), we usually link to a wikiquote page, even if that page does not yet exist. Often, the red links on a theme page inspire others to go and create that page. ~ UDScott 16:12, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand your blanking of this page - quotes are not merely spoken words, but as with any author, they include portions of their written work. ~ UDScott 19:41, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

So it's considered acceptable at Wikiquote to just C&P text out of a book that an author wrote and call it quotes? What is the equivalent of speedy deletion here? L0b0t 22:28, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it is entirely appropriate to quote from published works, within the limitations on fair use of copyright material. Were the words not published somewhere, one could hardly quote them. ~ Ningauble 22:57, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
