Hi, Eustace Tilley. Thank you for your proposal on Talk:Mnemonics. I changed its status from speedy deletion candidate to normal one. If you join the discussion on Wikiquote:Votes for deletion, you will be very appreciated.

On English Wikiquote there are not quite a difference from English Wikipedia, that is,

  • To ask a help or talk with other editor, visit our Village pump
  • To browse Wikiquote, give a look to our browsing start page.
  • To sign with a date, write four tildas (~~~~) and save.
  • Be bold.

Shortly enjoy! --Aphaia 15:01, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Eustace, I wanted to apologize for some of my rather heated remarks on the village pump. I have some pet peeves about the KISS principle and making processes easy for everyone to use, and I can get rather touchy about it. You made some good points, and I suspect that Wikiquote will eventually follow many of the practices you discussed. I'm just not sure that now is the best time to introduce them. I hope I haven't scared you off of participating in these discussions. We really could use your experienced eye and your help in fleshing out Wikiquote's infrastructure. Or you can focus on adding good content, like you're doing with Mitch Hedberg and other articles. Either way, your efforts and participation are appreciated, even if some people get snippy about it on occasion. ☺ I promise I'll try to be more cool-headed. — Jeff Q (talk) 10:50, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Speedy deletion candidatesEdit

Hi, Eustace, please use tags for speedy deletion candidate, instead of listing them on WQ:SD. It was a custom of ancient days now obsolated. You can use {{delete}} or {{db|reason}}(please see also Wikiquote:Template messages). As for Reirom, I will delete it because we decided already it has no notability Wikiquote requires. Cheers, --Aphaia 21:07, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Stairs in your house?Edit

Thanks for chiming in on the Talk:Reirom debacle. I have to ask, though — what did you mean by asking the Reirom supporter "Do you have stairs in your house?" I feel like I'm missing a clever barb. ☺ Jeff Q (talk) 00:56, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi, Eustace, thank you for clear statement to Reirom supporters. But I honestly say, if you haven't fed trolls, I were much happier. You don't deserve them, in my humble opinion. --Aphaia 23:07, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Please sign your VfDEdit

Eustace, could you go back and sign your VfD for James Chin? I don't want one of the Reirom supporters to cry "unequal treatment". Thanks. — Jeff Q (talk) 05:53, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Invatation to help identify problems, suggest solutions, debate, & vote!Edit

  • I was going to invite others to look at my analysis anyways, but Aphaia has suggested this:
  • "I would like you to consider if it is a good idea to invite other editors to read through over 100K talk. In my opinion, it is a sort of burden and shut out most of editors. And I suspect who is now interested in this issue. --Aphaia 5 July 2005 05:10 (UTC)" [1], and I shall do as asked.
  • You are invited by me, Eustace, to look at my analysis at: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:Abortion#Analysis_and_proposed_solutions and see if all the problems are identified, and if not, add one or two. Also, please notice that you can post your proposed solutions below. Afterwards, we can briefly discuss and then vote on different ideas. Don't worry: I addressed all concerns, but if you don't believe me, check it out. Sorry for the length, but many people had many problems.
  • In conclusion, I have done all the research: Read my analysis, debate it, vote on it, and accept the vote -even if it goes against you; All will be well. Take my word for it. Have a nice day.--GordonWattsDotCom 5 July 2005 05:57 (UTC)

Ethyl Watts MumfordEdit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ethyl Watts Mumford, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but it may not satisfy Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, for the reasons given in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
