Minor requests
editI've noticed on some of your recent people page additions, you've been leaving off the birth/death dates of the person. Could you be sure to include this (if known)? Also, it's good practice to include links to Wikipedia where such links are appropriate in the intro. Usually, I come behind and add them when I notice it, but there are days where I miss some of the new pages and don't always get a chance to comb through the list of new pages. Thanks for all your additions! ~ UDScott (talk) 17:10, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- I have sometimes been copying the intro from the search engine summary and not directly from wikipedia so I think that is the reason that sometimes the date of birth was missing. I will take care to include these. Thank you for the suggestions for improvement. --ᘙ (talk) 17:16, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

My request to a good editor (you)
editPlease understand that I don't mean to accuse you of anything. I am confident that you are creating articles that reflect ideas you consider important and true, with only good motives, devoting much time and technical skill to the project. The problem is, to talk about myself for a minute, that the things I consider important and true and worthy of getting quoted can be shaped by my own viewpoint on politics. For example, if someone notable says "Donald Trump is a dishonest bully!" I am likely to find that quotable but if the same person said Kamala Harris is a stupid woman, I am less likely to consider that pithy or eloquent. (Neither of those is really pithy or eloquent, btw.) So I try to keep track of my own inclination, and I am hoping you will take it in good spirit that I think you also need to do that with your own concerning the Indian politics of Modi versus Gandhi, etc. In particular, please be more careful about the "quotability" of political statements blaming some target for something very bad. Wikipedia is the place where readers seek information about important events. WQ is here just to collect "quotable quotes." HouseOfChange (talk) 00:32, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. I try to add quotes that meet at least one criteria, although maybe I don't always succeed. You are not referring to a specific quote, but you wrote after you edited the Sam Pitroda article. Thank you for the cleanup, I was thinking to make some edits in the article myself but because of the AFD and an editor with COI issues, and because there were so many AFDs, I have waited about it. If the removed Modi quote in the Pitroda article is quotable is subjective IMHO. I don't oppose the removal in this case, but also don't see why such type of quotes should not be quotable. Wikiquote has many quotes about Trump saying such things, or others saying such things about Trump. For example, the article John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich Hayek is basically just quotes about these two individuals criticizing each other. Similarly, some readers will find such quotes about politicians interesting. The other issue is that the Sam Pitroda was nominated for deletion for the wrong reasons, and an editor with COI issues wanted to remove quotes for POV reasons. --ᘙ (talk) 22:46, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- I think the Sam Pitroda article is now in good shape. thanks to your creation of it and my trimming it to quotable quotes sourced to reliable sources that give some context for each quote, rather than to partisan sources where the article is devoted to attacking the quote, Sam Pitroda, his political party, etc. etc. Quotes are judged one by one on the basis of our quotability guidelines, not by comparison to quotes in other articles. But I'm sure you know that. I wonder if Praveen Tiwari would qualify for an en-wiki article. HouseOfChange (talk) 11:55, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
