Whoever it is that is messing with the quotes and misquoting lines needs to stop it right now. Know your source material before messing with the quotes. Also, Episode 25 has already been shown many times on Cartoon Network, plus FMA Volume 7 DVD, which contains Episode 25, has already been released. SO STOP DELETING PERFECTLY ACCURATE QUOTES AND MISQUOTING LINES!!!!
I haven't messed with anything but I think one reason may be due to the fact that these quotes are from the English dub, and therefore differs from many meanings of the original lines. Maybe someone should make note of this in the beginning of the page. (and may I add a personal note here that I fully understand why some fans would want to change them, as I too was dismayed and appalled at how some of the lines got translated......)
- Even so, you should leave the quotes the way they are in English - any foreign-language quotes should be left in the foreign-language section of the wiki.
Separating Manga from AnimeEdit
This page is too incredibly long. I highly suggest that the parts become two separate pages. Curlyro 04:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- How about separate the article into two, Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) and Fullmetal Alchemist (anime)? --Aphaia 05:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
I think the two should indeed be seperated. This article is too long. And for those with slower computers, I'm sure it would be torture. 126.96.36.199 22:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Better place Anime in [Television shows] and manga in [Comics].User:MagnusLordN
Standard for Action IndicationEdit
There appears to be two standards for indicating action throughout the page: with asterisks * and brackets (). Which standard should be followed and, if both are used under different circumstances, how? --GeominorAI 09:38, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- Action format throughout the page should be used as shown in the Wikiquote:Templates/TV shows. Use brackets with the text and brackets in italics. This page needs some work. There also should be no bullets indicating new quotes. The horizontal rule does that. :) Curlyro 02:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Standard for ExpressionsEdit
I've seen many variations of "arrrghh!", "ahhh!!", "hmm", <any example with repeating letters for emphasis>. There also seemed to be quotes where capitalization and punctuation are over-used for emphasis. What are the standard for such spoken expressions? --GeominorAI 23:39, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- It depends - are you talking about the manga section or the anime?
There's a line which the handicapped man says to Ed which shocks him in the episode 16 That Which Is Lost. Can anyone tell me what it is as I missed it?
Question About Manga DialogueEdit
I'm lost. So much of the dialogue for the manga section here is different than the dialogue in the FullMetal Alchemist manga I've been looking over from the library. The manga I have is from a graphic novel line called VIZ action, translated into English by Akira Watanabe, printed in North America and originally published by Square-Enix. Is there a difference? Because I've seen some manga pages from the internet also and the dialogue is different there as well.
I believe some manga pages that appear online are translated by fans which would be why the dialogue doesn't match up with "authorized" translations.
I have a question. Where can I find the english dubbed version of the anime? I felt into an interest for add some lines because I`ve realized some seccions presents nothing but only some dialogues.
Second anime adaptationEdit
The quotes page with the first adaptation may be too long already to house any quotes for the second season (when contributors arise to tackle it). However, the game and movie quotes do not have their own place and splitting the two adaptations may isolate them even further. Should we bite the bullet and combine both seasons onto a single page, in which case we would rename the description on this redirect page and add new placeholder headers on the anime page. We can also leave it as it is and perhaps have a redirect point to the movie and game subsections. Thoughts, anyone? --GeominorAI 10:16, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
