Talk:Criticism of Wikipedia

I'd support merging this to Wikipedia. Currently it seems to be a kind of POVFORK. Rubbish computer Ping me or leave a message on my talk page 19:14, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Rubbish computer: I'm not sure POVFORK applies to pages on sister projects. GMGtalk 21:35, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Rubbish computer I don't think it is necessary to merge this article. IMIO there are a lot of other quotes that have nothing to do with guns around. Ottawahitech (talk) 03:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC) fix typo Ottawahitech (talk) 18:05, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Hi Ottawahitech, GreenMeansGo, I would be ok not merging it, it just needs more quotes. If I have time today will add some. Rubbish computer (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 08:03, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- Rubbish computer, GreenMeansGo, Ottawahitech; I vote for a merger because it is often subjective what is criticism and what is praise and there are no Wikipedia pages for praise. Criticism pages tend to be for real world subjects but imagine doing that for works of fiction. Every single film has critical reviews, do we really need twice as many film pages? What decides whether it's better to have a controversy page or a criticism page? If a controversy page is supposed to include arguments from both sides, then how is that different from a regular page, isn't that what NPOV is supposed to be? How can a criticism page possibly be NPOV? Doesn't it set a bad example when we admit NPOV is only applicable to certain pages? It makes it seem entirely optional and less like one of our core values. CensoredScribe (talk) 21:03, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- We have quite a few criticism articles. We can argue whether this particular subject is noteworthy, but I think the ship has probably sailed on whether criticism articles are categorically appropriate. GMGtalk 11:28, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
