Talk:Norwegian proverbs
Many of these are in neither Bokmål nor Nynorsk, but in archaic spelling or dialect. Most of them are extremely rare. Contrarily, very common ones are lacking, e.g. "Eplet faller ikke langt fra treet." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.203.133.91 (talk • contribs) 03:15, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
I am aware of this issue. However I still decided to include rare proverbs because I believe the wisdom they contain is useful. --Spannerjam (talk) 07:52, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
Liten tue kan velte stort lass
editThe English proverb/idiom "The straw that broke the camel's back" does not have the same meaning as the Norwegian proverb "Liten tue kan velte stort lass".
- The English proverb refers to additional burden, where the final straw makes the difference.
- The Norwegian proverb refers to unforeseen small events having a big impact - alone, not added together.
I suggest the English idiom/proverb be removed, and the translation ("A tiny tussock can topple a big cart
") left, unless someone can find another English proverb with the same meaning.

- I have removed the English idiom/proverb as per the suggestion. Anyone? Ottawahitech (talk) 18:05, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
