Removing misattributions

edit

I'm removing the parts that are supposed to be translations of a non-existing "farsi" website. I'm no fan of Ahmadinejad, but in this case, they're not even "misattributions" they're just outright jokes played on him, as such jokes are really common in Iran and are easy to spot. And I wouldn't put something like "Ahmadinejad: I'm an idiot. (Quoted from a Farsi page with no sources)" on a section titled "misattributions" just because someone used that sentence as a joke. 64.180.40.39 11:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Here are the quotations removed from the article. Please add them back if you can find a Farsi source with a reliable translation. ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 12:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • "If I had to call myself a nut it would in all likelihood describe myself as cashew nut" "Delcious with a nutty butter flavor"
  • "I know that at least my mother loves me"

  • The website is up now and I had a look at it. Ironically, this is Ahmadinejad's official website and there is NOTHING on that page could possibly be translated into those two quotations. Unless there's something on another page on that website, which is highly unlikely--what kind of politician would put "At least my mother loves me" on his official website, anyway?--those quotations are just jokes. 64.180.40.39 06:49, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

This quote is false.

Anybody who does not recognize Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury.

Ahmadinejad is quoted as saying, "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury."

Clean-up

This page has been listed as needing cleanup since 2005-08-07. Now the article has been rearranged, but still needs some work on the source information. The links needs to be checked and correct source info needs to be added. -- Mdd (talk) 18:18, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
