Night rider?

In the episode the honking, calculon says nightrider's winsheild wipers were used in the ware car. Fry said Night rider wasn't evil, but calculon said his winsheild wipers were.

Knight Rider (note the spelling) was a TV series in the 1980s starring David Hasselhoff as Wilton Knight and his super-intelligent car K.I.T.T. voiced by William Daniels.

Article Length

I've added a cleanup tag because the quotation organization is seriously lacking and does not comply with std. TV quotation formatting (dialogue formatting arranged by season/episode) ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 12:24, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

I had nothing better to do with myself at work today, so I went ahead and did a major cleanup on this. I removed a bunch of quotes that didn't make sense without context. One problem is that there are still a lot of quotes in the "Unknown episode" section; I'll try and migrate those to their proper places as I find out where they belong. ~ LrdChaos 20:49, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

The "like sex" quote from the Popplers episode was wrong. There are 2 versions on the Internet. I listened to the audio to verify the correct phrasing. -- Craig Buchek (Booch on Wikipedia)

"Please don't stop playing, Fry. I wanna hear how it ends."

I've removed this quote because, without knowing the episode, and really, knowing how through the whole series, Fry is trying to get Leela to like him, it doesn't have any meaning. Yes, it's the last line of the series, and yes, in context it's a very powerful line, but that doesn't carry over to words on a page on the Internet, where the emotion of it is lost. —LrdChaos 13:53, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Episode numbers

Alright, I'm not going to start a revert war, so let's take this up here. I think that the episode numbers should be removed, or at the very least handled differently, because using those brackets makes it entirely impossible to directly link a section from Wikipedia. It creates a problem in the syntax. I realize the need for the numbers, at least until every episode has a quote section in here, but there is simply no justification for creating syntax errors simply for formatting preference. -- Digital Watches 20:52, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I've reverted back Digital Watch's change to remove the season.episode numbering from the section headers. It's not because I want to get into an edit war, or because I like them, it's the very real issue that there are episodes without sections and it's significantly easier to be able to add them in the right spot when you can tell at a glance where it belongs. I hope to eventually create a custom TOC for this page; the missing episodes are holding me back from that for now. Since there seems to be an impetus for accelerating this process, sometime this weekend or early next week, I'll add headers for the missing episodes, and will remove the numbers at that time. Fixed!

Alright, I've copied the quotation sections from the articles over to here. I'll have to reformat them so that they are formatted the same as the rest of wikiquote, but this does mean that we can remove the numbers. The reason I'm working to get this done is because I'm currently engaged in the project of removing the "Quotes," "Trivia," and possibly "References" sections from all of the Futurama articles. -- Digital Watches 21:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I think a better idea is to work on trimming the page down. I know there were a lot of funny moments in the show, but Wikiquote isn't the place for collecting all of them. Considering that there were only four seasons of the show (as compared to something like South Park or The Simpsons with more than 10), so the problem of length isn't due to a long run but rather to excessive quoting. —LrdChaos (talk) 21:19, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Number of quotes per episode

Lately, I've been trimming back some of the larger sections. One of the unwritten targets for the # of quotes per episode, generally, is between 3 and 8; some of the sections here have around 20 quotes. By keeping the number down, we help to lessen the chance of the page being a copyright violation.

If you want to add a new quote to a particular episode, and there are already 8 or more quotes there, please consider whether your quote is at the same level as, or better than, those already there. If you think it is, try to remove one of the not-as-good quotes to keep the number of quotes the same. —LrdChaos (talk) 14:53, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Lyrics to songs

I posted the lyrics to the Emmy-nominated "I Want My Hands Back" from "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" on the episode page, but they rejected me and told me to post them here. However, looking at the page, there really doesn't seem to be a place to put them other than the section for the episode. Should there be a section for lyrics to music featured prominently in the show? 76.174.21.127 19:45, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

We try to avoid having whole songs in pages. There are definite copyright issues with that, for one thing; we try to avoid quoting anything in full, whether it be a scene or a song. So, in this case, regardless of the fact that the song was "Emmy-nominated", it really doesn't belong on this Wikiquote page. —LrdChaos (talk) 20:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Page organization

I don't like how this article is organized. People should be able to look for quotes by characters not episodes. Though i'm a huge Futurama fan i have no idea in what episodes which quote is. Well, the way it's currently organized is the standard Wikiquote way of organizing it. Keeping the quotes grouped by episode means it's easy to see where it came from (important for providing sources).

There's also a simpler problem in grouping quotes by character: what do you do for dialogue? When only one main character is involved, it's easy, but what do you do when, for example, Fry and Leela have dialogue? Whose section should that bit go into? —LrdChaos (talk) 20:24, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Season 5

There aren't any episodes listed from season five. Is it really that mediocre, or has no one picked up any quotes from those episodes yet?
