Mistaken category?
editAs I said before (somewhere on WQ), I believe that following enwiki blindly is not good policy. In this case, I believe, someone added the Category: academics based on the enwiki version of Fukuzawa Yukichi. It is my opinion that this was a mistake, but unfortunately if I try to explain why, I may be blocked for proxy editing (wiki-policy/guidline/rule?).
I'll be able to provide a little more information when my current block on META expires, if anyone is interested. Ottawahitech (talk)
@Ivalon Olavi, UDScott: Mistaken category also applies to Joseph Wu, I think? Ottawahitech (talk) 18:24, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Leader who founded Keio University.--Ivalon Olavi (talk) 18:29, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- And Wu: prior to entering politics, he was an academic political scientist, finishing his PhD in political science in 1989 at Ohio State University. He wrote his doctoral thesis on progress and obstacles to democratization in Taiwan. [2] He served as a teacher and research assistant in the political science department of Ohio State University in the United States, and as deputy director of the Institute of International Relations of National Chengchi University in Taiwan.--Ivalon Olavi (talk) 18:32, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Ivalon Yes I saw the the claim about academic political scientist, but these days you do not normally get to be an academic before you get your PhD. I would feel much better if the article mentioned teaching or working at the university. I wonder how long PhD degrees have been around, what does wiki say about this?
