Part I of the book completed, how to start Part II of the same book
editI am glad that I have completed collecting the quotes from the first part of the book. However, I have to start the second part. I checked how I can mention the second part. I find there is no way other than including it as third level sub-head (with ===), but then again, I have to change the remaining sub-heads to the fourth level (with ====). Is this how it should be done? Please help! - Veera.sj (talk) 17:00, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- There is no perfect solution here, but an empty chapter is a possibility, as implemented (as example).-- Mdd (talk) 00:30, 18 October 2015 (UTC) One thing: Please replace the quote (I added) which is not that appropriate.
Article length
editThis article contains a very large amount of material from a single work. The point of Wikiquote is not to cover a thesis, but to collect remarkable quotes. I encourage editors to consider the difference between a collection of quotations and a condensed book.
That article is best which showcases the very best and most famous quotes, presenting the most outstanding bits so they stand out, rather than reproducing so much of the work that readers must hunt for them. By excerpting too much material, an article may cease to effectively highlight brilliant words and ideas, becoming a different kind of thing, a sort of literary digest—not a bad thing really, but not a Wikiquote thing. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:51, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
- Sure Ningauble, I will work out on that. Thanks for the suggestion! - Veera.sj (talk) 06:46, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Marcel and Ningauble. I am going to remove a few quotes very soon. Meanwhile, if you feel any particular quote(s) can be surely removed, you may suggest. You may directly remove them too. (Personally, it is a pain for me to take off any of the quotes, because I feel all of them are important, but adhering to wiki's policies and welcoming any kind of suggestions from experts like you is at the top of my list.) Thanks! See you soon! - Veera.sj (talk) 11:17, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

- I have eliminated a few quotes. If the administrators still feel that there are a few more quotes which need to be deleted, they are free to. No objection at all! It has been a timely advice, so that I would not go on creating lengthy articles. My future works would also be on pictorialistic photographers only, but I will take care that I will be including only the most important quotes and they are short and sweet. Thanks!! - Veera.sj (talk) 16:09, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
WHY ARE ALL OF THE SUBSECTIONS IN ALL CAPS ?
editWHY ARE ALL OF THE SUBSECTIONS TO THIS WIKIQUOTE PAGE IN ALL CAPS ?
JUST CURIOUS ?
THANK YOU,
-- Cirt (talk) 17:51, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- hi Cirt, they were that way in the book, I copied them and pasted them as they were in the book, so they are all in caps! if it is against wiki's policies, do let me know so that i can correct them. - Veera.sj (talk) 04:23, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- I just think it would do our readers a better service to downscale them. :) -- Cirt (talk) 04:49, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- I beg your pardon Cirt, I did not understand. Did you just say, uncapitalizing the subheads would give a neater look? - Veera.sj (talk) 05:41, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yup. :) -- Cirt (talk) 05:42, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- Done Cirt! Further suggestions welcome!! Veera.sj (talk) 06:29, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Pictures from the book
editI have completed including quotes from the book. However, I found a picture or two interesting in the book. Can I take screenshots and include them here? Will be starting a new article, of course on Pictorialism only, very soon. Thanks for all our suggestions and allowing me to contribute to such a nice article on English Wikiquote. This is my first article on English Wikiquote, and I hope I will create many such articles and I hope all of you suggest me with open heart, just as you did for this article!! - Veera.sj (talk) 17:17, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
