Peter Rabbit
edit- I hate that I'm the face of this.
- [repeated line] Whaaaaaaaaat?!
- My voice isn't annoying, riiiiiiiight?
- Oh, no. Cottontail just discovered sugar.
Thomas McGregor
edit- [repeated line] Peter!
- Just leave my tomatoes alone, you have everything else!
- Imagine me and our future children frolicking.
- Bea, the other rabbits were taken. And the pig, and the duck, and the hedgehog, and is there a badger? [Peter nods]
- [comes out of the pet store of what they think is the list of the animals' locations] Right, here we go. Almond milk, cashew cheese, walnut butter, this is not the list. That man clearly likes to get his protein from nuts.
Bea
edit- Join them. Frolic.
- [referring to Peter] Go easy on him. He's just getting used to the idea that you're here to stay.
Barnabas
edit- The rabbit comes out of the hole, goes around the tree, and back down the hole.
- It's not hard to lie to someone that wants to believe.
Nigel Basil-Jones
edit- I also imagine his voice to be quite annoying.
- Your books will never go anywhere without me. This is the last the world will ever hear of Peter Rabbit.
Others
edit- Tom Kitten: Can we come in now? I'm freezing my catnip off.
- Mittens: Enough with the instructions. Let's get on with it.
- Sammy Whiskers: Okay, so the thimbles are fruits, spindles are vegetables. The pincushion represents the sun coverage according to tomorrow's weather, which I recorded over a series of 6 weekends, not including last Saturday, which I deemed unseasonably cloudy. [Mittens: Whiskers, no-one cares!] Oh alright, fine! [tears apart the map in frustration] I hope you guys aren't visual learners.
Dialogue
edit- Peter: [realizes Barnabas was using him] You set us up!
- Mittens: We didn't not set you up, if you catch my smell.
- Tom: Good one, sis. [smack their tails together]
- Barnabas: You really thought we were gonna share all this with those yokels? We just needed bodies. [cut to the rest of Peter's family stuck in cages inside a truck] Sweet, dumb, bumpkin bodies that will follow you anywhere.
- Tommy: Is this still part of the plan?
- Cottontail: Did Peter do this?
- Benjamin: Well, he's not here, is he?
- Mrs. Tiggywinkle: Maybe he really is a bad seed. [a goat bleats]
- [cut back to Peter]
- Peter: Dad was your best friend.
- Sammy Whiskers: And my best friend is the Sugar Plum Fairy. [he and the gang laughs] I'm kidding. She's very hard to get to know. Closed off. She's Russian.
- Peter: [heartbroken] You never knew my dad.
- Barnabas: Wouldn't be caught dead in some country garden, like he was.
- Peter: Why did you do this?
- Barnabas: No one wanted to adopt me anymore. I was too old. I was being replaced. Every kid in town wanted a young rabbit like the one in that book. So I tracked you down. I was just gonna use you as bait for a few fake and takes, but then I saw how good you were. Then I figured "we could do something a lot bigger together.".
- Peter: You lied to me!
- Barnabas: It's not hard to lie to someone that wants to believe. But one thing's dead true: we are a great team. That's why you're in this truck with us instead of in a cage with them. This is where you belong, Peter. We're your family now.
- Peter: No. My family's in trouble, and it's all my fault! [jumps out of the truck to rescue his family]
- [Mr. Tod chases Peter briefly]
- Peter: Wait! [they both stop] You don't have to try to eat me anymore, remember? You're welcome to all of this.
- Mr. Tod: Right, right, right. Still getting used to that. I just have so much energy. I think it's this new plant-based diet and I don't have to chase you anymore. I'm just like: AAAAAHH!!!
- Peter: Hmm, have you tried jogging?
- Mr. Tod: What's jogging?
- Peter: It's running without a terrified animal in front of you.
- Mr. Tod: Think that'll work?
- Peter: I'm desperately hoping so.
- Barnabas: This is the McGregor's garden of the city. It's how we survive out here.
- Peter: Really? Are they all like this?
- Barnabas: Nah. It's usually just takeout containers and a bottle of champagne they're saving for a special occasion that will never come.
- Peter: Oh, that's so sad.
- Barnabas: Yeah, it's really sad.
- Peter: Hmm.
- Barnabas: Hmm. [pause] Anyway, let's steal some more stuff, yeah?
- Sammy Whiskers: This reminds me of the first time I was put in a cage. The circus was in town and I'd always... [interrupted by Barnabas]
- Barnabas: [angrily pulls off Sammy's whiskers] Whiskers, stay focused!
- Sammy Whiskers: [takes his whiskers back] On what, being captured and getting our comeuppance?! [calms down] Anyway, they only hired bats, so I made a costume out of gym socks.
- Thomas: [with the real list] Manchester, London, Inverness, the ALPS? They're everywhere. Do you see the mess you've created? You're never gonna learn.
- Peter: 'Cause you never gimme a chance. All you do is tell me how bad I am.
- Thomas: Well, stop giving me reasons to. [realized Peter talked] Wait, did you just talk?
- Peter: No, yes, uh, maybe. Could be your imagination. Could be the radio. This is BCC7 playing all the hits with none of the talk. Especially not Peter because rabbits can't talk. Oh, look the fuel gauge is empty. [Thomas stops the truck. Peter activates a fake grenade, whistles, & makes a fake explosion. Thomas screams in surprise that he can talk right afterward]
- Sammy Whiskers: [Mittens throws him a piece of dried fruit] Lasts forever. And it's only 1/8 the size of a piece of fresh fruit.
- Tom: But with the same nutritional value.
- Mittens: [picks up a can of dried fruit] It's easy to transport and totally untraceable.
- Tom: [throws some dried fruit pieces] Try that.
- [Peter, Benjamin, and the triplets try their own dried fruit pieces]
- Peter: That's so good!
- Cottontail: Pfft! It's no jellybean.
- Sammy Whiskers: [strictly] Hey! We don't do that stuff here. Get me, kid? Junks up your noggin.
- [after the priest tells Thomas that he is Peter's father]
- Peter: Father?
- Thomas: Father.
- Peter: You're not my father! [attacks him with the bunnies and the animals]
- Cottontail: Hiya!
- [Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail throw off the flowers and kick the people in the butts and in the crotch. Peter takes Thomas out and ties him in the balloons]
- Peter: You'll never be my father! Now everyone can see your underpants!
- [unfortunately, this was Peter's daydream as Benjamin budges him awake]
- Benjamin: Peter! Peter, the ring!
- [Peter looks down and notices he is not standing on the chair where he and Benjamin had stood on before looking at the crowd behind him and then Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail and looks at Thomas and Bea]
