(Redirected from New World Translation)

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT) is a modern-language translation of the Bible published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society for Jehovah's Witnesses in 1961. It is not the first bible to be published by the group, but is their first original translation of ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic biblical texts. As of 2010, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania has published more than 165 million copies of the Bible in 87 languages.

Jehovah of armies has sworn: Just as I have intended, so it will occur, and just as I have decided, that is what will come true.
~ Book of Isaiah 14:24
If a man with gold rings on his fingers and in splendid clothing comes into your meeting, but a poor man in filthy clothing also enters,do you look with favor on the one wearing the splendid clothing and say, “You take this seat here in a fine place,” and do you say to the poor one, “You keep standing” or, “Take that seat there under my footstool”? If so, do you not have class distinctions among yourselves, and have you not become judges rendering wicked decisions? ~ Letter of James 2:2-4

Acts

edit
  • Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own Son. I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.

James

edit
  • If a man with gold rings on his fingers and in splendid clothing comes into your meeting, but a poor man in filthy clothing also enters,do you look with favor on the one wearing the splendid clothing and say, “You take this seat here in a fine place,” and do you say to the poor one, “You keep standing” or, “Take that seat there under my footstool”? If so, do you not have class distinctions among yourselves, and have you not become judges rendering wicked decisions?
    • 2:2-4

1 John

edit
  • Do not love either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but the one who does the will of God remains forever.
    • 1 John 2:15-17

Revelation

edit
  • Before the throne was something resembling a glassy sea, like crystal. In the midst of the throne and around the throne were four living creatures that were full of eyes in front and behind. • Revelation 4:6–7
  • Because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them and will guide them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.
  • The seventh angel blew his trumpet. And there were loud voices in heaven, saying: “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will rule as king forever and ever.”
    • 11:15

And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
    • Revelation 21:3,4
  • I am coming quickly. Happy is anyone observing the words of the prophecy of this scroll.
