Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called X. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name X~enwikiquote that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Sabotage?
editHi Xaosflux! About 10 days ago I noticed that characters {,}, [, ] and : changed to other ones, but only at en-Wikiquote. So someone wants me (originally Risto hot sir) to stop categorizing and linking? Yesterday I couldn't log in anymore, and the same happened to Luke Jedi Skywalker before, a very active editor - haven't seen his texts in many days. What ties us together is that at Wikipedia a certain editor does not like sites created by Luke nor me linking those.--Sipe-Mika (talk) 21:28, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thank You! Risto hot sir still can't log in.--Sipe-Mika (talk) 13:19, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- Emptied the cookies and tried to log in at a new wiki, but had no success. The text tells that the username or password is incorrect, 'though they should be correct.--Sipe-Mika (talk) 16:35, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Back again, many thanksǃ But the characters look like thisː ̺DEFAULTSORTːccˌʽCategoryːEnglish peopleʼ--Risto hot sir (talk) 19:00, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Risto hot sir: please try to edit this page using this safemode link [1] and see if it changes. That will rule out any on-wiki scripts. Xaosflux (talk) 20:06, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
ʽCategoryːGermansʼ--Risto hot sir (talk) 20:16, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Risto hot sir: Are you having that same issue on other WMF projects, such as at w:en:User talk:Xaosflux ? Xaosflux (talk) 20:22, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Risto hot sir: - if you have access to a different web browser please try that here as well. Xaosflux (talk) 20:23, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- There's no problem at other wikis. This computer hasn't any other web browsers. Tomorrow I could try another one.--Risto hot sir (talk) 20:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Risto hot sir: you could have a cached script here, please choose whatever option your browser has to delete all temporary internet files and cache. Xaosflux (talk) 22:22, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
