Question about Wikidata items.

edit

Hi, sorry to trouble you. You seem to be adding a quite a number of good articles to Wikiquote. You may know I've been taking a particular interest in getting Wikidata items connected to Wikiquote articles, both as they are newly created (as most people don't do this but you do), and trying to reduce the number of existing articles at [1]. In doing so I happened to notice you created a duplicate article for Azealia Banks d:Q271385 at Q116220760 and when you realised moved the sitelinks enWQ and brWQ to Q271385. As a minor point I emptied out Q116220760 completely (removed the English and Brazilian-Portugese labels) and then redirected Q116220760 to Q271385. But my question is how or what tool or method are you using to create the wikidata item and sitelink for a Wikiquote article. Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 20:11, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Djm-leighpark: This happens because when you create the article in different Wikis and don't link the article in any Wikidata data it will happen to create another page in Wikidata that was just a mistake i made i apologize. An example creating an article on Wikiquote in Portuguese and creating the same article on a Wikiquote in English will create a new page on Wikidata if you don't link either of those two links in the Main Data of Wikidata before that's what happened this was my mistake. -- Gillum (talk) 20:26, 17 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
No need to apologize. The thanks for noticing and rectifying the problem. I've been monitoring to check new articles have a wikidata item attacked and I happened to be looking at the small interval between you creating the Wikiquote article and creating and fixing the sitelink. Any many thanks for detailed the explanation. Keep going! -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 20:36, 17 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
