The Jungle Book 2

The Jungle Book 2 is a 2003 animated feature film produced by the DisneyToons studio in Sydney and released by Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Distribution. The theatrical version of the film was released in France on February 5, 2003, and released in the United States on February 14, 2003. The film is a sequel to Walt Disney's 1967 film The Jungle Book, and stars Haley Joel Osment as the voice of Mowgli and John Goodman as the voice of Baloo. The film was originally produced as a direct-to-video film, but was released theatrically first, similar to the Peter Pan sequel, Return to Never Land. It is the third Disney sequel to have a theatrical release rather than going direct-to-video after The Rescuers Down Under in 1990 and Return to Neverland in 2002. The film is not based on The Second Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, first published in 1895. However, they do have several characters in common. When released, it was criticised mainly for its cut-rate animation and a lazy, samey plotline to the original film. Disney released the VHS and DVD versions on June 10, 2003. On June 17, 2008, a Special Edition DVD was released.

[Mowgli and Baloo were walking to the Ancient Ruins, where Baloo said he had a perfect hideout place downriver]
Mowgli: This is the perfect hideout? This used to be King Louie's place.
Baloo: Was, kid, was. He's 'splitsville'. Now me and the monkeys have turned it...into the greatest secret hideout ever.

Colonel Hathi: Confound that, solder. That's a fish!

Kaa: Are you hungry? I'm s-s-s-straved!

Shere Khan: I know where he isn't. Now tell!

Bagheera: This has to stop. You know better than to take Mowgli away from the man village. The boy's future lies with his own kind.
Baloo: Oh! His future can wait. [sighs] I miss my bear cub so much.
Bagheera: [sighs] It's no longer safe for him in the jungle anymore. You know that Shere Khan is looking for Mowgli.
Baloo: Just let Shere Khan try something. We handled old stripes once, we'll do it again.
[Bagheera walks in front of Baloo]
Bagheera: Baloo, don't push your luck.
Baloo: Outta the way, Baggy!
Bagheera: You're not going anywhere near the village!
[Before he can finish his sentence, Bagheera falls through the log then into the river with a scream. Baloo looks down the hole in the log. Bagheera jumps out for air.]
Baloo: Later, Baggy!
Bagheera: That's it! Hathi, Plan B!

Ranjan: [beats Kaa repeatedly with a stick for trying to eat Shanti] Bad snake! Bad snake! Bad snake! Bad snake! Bad snake!
Shanti: Ranjan? What are you doing here?
Ranjan: Bad snake, bad snake! You leave Shanti alone!

Mowgli: [to walk over, the two dogs watched the man-cub] Shanti? Ranjan? [Mowgli hears barking] Huh? Tiger, Talbot! It's you. [The two dogs runs past and jumped at Mowgli and grunts, knocks him down. Tiger and Talbot greets Mowgli and laughs at licks his face, slurps Mowgli's face] All right. [laughs] Stop that, you two! Cut that out. [Tiger and Talbot backed off Mowgli and runs inside, laughs at wipes his face] Silly doggies.

Mowgli: I'm sorry, sir. It's just...
Ranjan's Father: No, Mowgli. I'm sorry. I should've understood that the jungle is a part of who you really are.

Shanti: Good night, Mowgli.
Mowgli: Good night, Shanti.

Ranjan's Father: Shanti, what is it? [to the children] Children, come inside this instant, all of you! [to Mowgli] Mowgli! That includes you.
[Mowgli walks over to Ranjan's Father]
Ranjan's Father: I am very disappointed in you. You ungratefully put everyone in danger! You know that you're not allowed to cross the river, and yet you deliberately disobeyed me!
Mowgli: But, but I...
Ranjan's Father: No, Mowgli. The jungle is a dangerous place. I should know.
[he shows a scratch on his arm]
Ranjan's Father: You are confined to your room without dinner. I hope this will give you plenty of time to think about what you've done.

Baloo: What are you doing' out here, Baggy?
[Baloo put his hands on Mowgli behind his back]
Bagheera: Haven't you heard: "That Man is in the jungle"?
Baloo: Wha-wha-what do they want?
Bagheera: They're searching for Mowgli.
Baloo: Mowgli?
Bagheera: I thought that perhaps that maybe you have seen the boy.
Baloo: Me? Uh, no. Ha? You know his future is in that village.
Bagheera: Yes. I just wish I knew where he was!
Baloo: Yeah. Whew. Sorry. But first I can help you, Baggy?
Bagheera: D'oh! Enough fun and games, Baloo! Now where's the boy?
Baloo: Baggy, Baggy, Baggy, Baggy. I can explain. I can explain. I...can explain but I don't have to, because, as you can plainly see, Mowgli is no longer here. I'm all alone.
Baloo looks at Bagheera, then smiles, with his teeth out]
Bagheera: [sighs] I know that he's around here someone, and he cannot hide forever.
Baloo: Uh, I'm sure he can't get past you, Baggy.
Bagheera: Hmm!

Shanti: But he's attacking us!
Baloo: Attacking? I'm the one that got socked in the schnozzle!
Mowgli: That's because you scared her.
Baloo: But told me to scarify her!
Shanti: What?
Mowgli: No, no, no, no. I....
[Mowgli sits on the ground]
Shanti: Mowgli, you planned this?
Mowgli: Well, I, uh...
Shanti: Uhh! Come on, Ranjan.
Mowgli: No, Shanti! I can explain!
Shanti: Don't even bother.
[Shanti runs away with Ranjan]
Mowgli: Shanti, wait!

Shere Khan: You seem surprised to see me, man-cub. I can't imagine why. I wasn't going to let you get away for what you did to me. You see, you surely humiliated me, man-cub. Surely you do realize why I simply can't let you live. [after Mowgli kicked dust on him] Oh, you're going to try and outrun me. How droll!

Lucky: Ask me if I can whip that tiger! Go on! Ask!
Dizzy: How can you whip that tiger?
Lucky: I Shere Kahn!
