Talk:Oprah Winfrey

Too many quotes here are in bold. It makes it difficult to read. - Furrykef 03:07, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Agreed. For me it is a bit noisy. But perhaps we are better to wait for others' opinion. --Aphaia 06:01, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It's fine.

I'm fairly new here, having come from Wikipedia. I find the bolding to be bothersome. For one thing it is sort of original research. Rather than just repeating what the person said bolding is added to tell the reader what are the important parts, in the opinion of the editor. I'm also shocked that not a single sourced quote from Ms Winfrey is included. Steve Dufour 13:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not shocked by this at all, considering the number of people who visit here to complain about things, remove things, and rarely actually add sourced quotes to articles. You are very welcome to add sourced quotes, or to source some of those which are here, as I did on the Mikhail Gorbachev article you recently complained about, and removed material from. ~ Kalki 13:51, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The bolding issue is also something I am not surprised to find you complaining about, and I intend to address this issue and a couple others within the next day or two, when I find the time. I actually have very little of it right now to spend here, and will have to be leaving soon, but I expect to check in at least a few times today, and expect to have a bit more time tomorrow. ~ Kalki 13:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, maybe "shocked" was a little strong choice of word on my part. Also please note that I did start an article Eric Rücker Eddison, so all my contributions haven't been negative. :-) Steve Dufour 14:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
