User:Joreberg is using dubious "sources" merely for their journalistic titles which are almost invariably political attacks and insulting of Pence. Here is one example: "Archived: Jerry Brown makes True claim: Mike Pence 'denies evolution'". If you read the quotation, and the quotations provided in the article, Pence says he doesn't know, and will ask God when he meets him. Note that Pence never actually "denies" (a heresy word, more appropriate for religion than for science) evolution – not knowing something is neither denying it nor affirming it. Until the article is cleaned up with more neutral citations, or better yet primary sources, the {{NPOV}} tag should remain. ~ DanielTom (talk) 19:52, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

From Snopes, a fact-checking resource:

"The VP-elect may not have absolutely denied the phenomenon of evolution, but he has said that "intelligent design provides the only even remotely rational explanation for the known universe.""

Now, if "intelligent design" is the only explanation, how much room is there for other explanations, like evolution?

The article mentioned by DanielTom includes the Pence quote

"Chris, I believe with all my heart that God created the heavens and the earth, the seas and all that is in them. … How he did that, I’ll ask him about some day."

For most people, believing something that excludes evolution and denying evolution is approximately the same thing.

It is very touching that DanielTom seems to want to downplay some of the more outlandish quotes from Pence, but these quotes are interesting and important for the general public.

• I updated the "source"; it is less misleading now. The quotations are fine, of course, but such misleading journalistic titles (invariably selected by User:Joreberg, one assumes for that very reason) are not.
