Talk:Meher Baba
Chronology
edit- I will probably attempt to date the existing quotes and arrange them chronologically as is standard on wikiquote pages sometime this week. ~ Gardener 22:30, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Quote on Avatarhood
editFor reasons I don't understand, User:86.177.181.49 keeps removing what appears to be a very valuable and clarifying quote by Meher Baba about his claim to avatarhood. I have put it back. Clearly 86.177.181.49 is not acting with consensus, as he has reverted more than three times. Before putting back, please discuss and consider consensus that clearly appears to be on the side of keeping the quote in the page. Dazedbythebell 18:04, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- I too have restored this quote several times. It was just removed earlier today with the comment "I have a right to remove what I put there in the first place, nobody else put it there." I replaced it with the comment "restore a quote — everyone here has the right to preserve presentations of sourced and interesting quotes no matter who originally added the material." This user doesn't seem to understand no person "owns" this page or this project and everyone can and should see to it that interesting quotes are presented on the pages available. Though the page needs some work to organize it in standard chronological fashion the consensus does indeed seem to be that the particular quote is an interesting one which should be on the page. ~ Kalki (talk · contributions) 20:36, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- The persistent deletion of this sourced quotes to this page has begun to amount to vandalism, no matter who first added the material. I have again restored the quote and a bit more material which was removed. I will try to properly format this page and remove the cleanup tag within the next few days, but might be too busy to do so today. ~ Kalki (talk · contributions) 11:47, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Nice New Cleanup
editNice work on the new face of the page Kalki. Beautiful! Darwin394 16:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm glad I finally had time to get around to doing some work on it, as it had needed it for some time, and was quite pleased with what I was able to do. ~ Kalki (talk · contributions) 18:17, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Do your best, then don't worry; be happy and leave the results to God.
editThis quote has a long history of circulating on the internet, and has no clear source. The closest I could find is reference to a 61 page Australian pamphlet that is not available in the U.S. library system or Amazon. Also no page in the pamphlet is given. The pamphlet was written in 1996, long after Baba died. So this quote would need clear verification from a source by Meher Baba. Dazedbythebell (talk) 11:02, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
General comments about this article
editHi. I am a newbie, so there is a good chance I am missing something. This article seems to be missing most of what constitutes a good wikipedia article. Specifically, direct historical information that would resemble a biography, second, a neutral point of view, not the view of accolytes, and third, some shred of information regarding MB's role in history, the attitude of neutral parties towards him, and the nature and extent of his following over time, including the present.66.213.36.2 20:30, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
