Grouping Issues
editI just wanted to make a comment for anyone who is interested in editing this article. The two issues basically are this:
- Jane Roberts was a trance medium speaking for a spirit who called himself 'Seth' . . . most of the quotes on the page are Seth's. But some are Jane speaking for herself. Her 'own' quotes are interspersed throughout the times when she is speaking as Seth. There should probably be a way of identifying when she is speaking as herself and when she is speaking as Seth. This is awkward to do in the current format which is more or less in chronological order. I am open to any ideas of restructuring to make it more apparent as to who is speaking.
- The other issues is the chronology itself. As far as I am aware, the 'Early Sessions' were the earliest recorded and transcribed, but the last to be published. As it is now, I have arranged the quotations in the chronological order in which they were recorded, not the order in which they were published in book form. Thus any dates of publication that would be used to source the quotes from any of the Early Sessions may be a bit misleading. Again, I am open to suggestions as to how anyone wishes to handle this.
Thank you for your attention.
Unsourced

Sourcing
edit- The first section of the article has been moved to the talk page, because it failed to mention the sources. In Wikiquote every single quote needs to be sourced. The possibility exist to arrange quotes from one source in a separate chapter, but quotes shouldn't in separate chapters without the source mentioned. -- Mdd (talk) 18:20, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- "Early Sessions" was the name of the book where the sessions can be found. How does this qualify as "unsourced"? They were published by the New Awareness Network. Edited by Robert Butts. Nine volumes. ISBN 0-9652855-0-2 and the author was Roberts, Jane (1997 and after). The Early Sessions. It spanned Sessions 1 through 510 of the Seth Material. - Thanks for the info, I restored the quotes with the additional source info. -- Mdd (talk) 18:49, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Wikiquote:Limits on quotations - Seth, Dreams & Projections of Consciousness, (1986)
editThe Wikiquote:Limits_on_quotations#Books states:
- A recommended maximum of five lines of prose or eight lines of poetry for every ten pages of a book not in the public domain. This is equal to about 1.25% of the total content of a book.
Now it seems that the section about the book "Seth, Dreams & Projections of Consciousness, (1986)" is exceeding this limit. The 1986 edition seem to be 385 pages, which means the total section can contain about 200 lines. Since the book is not available online I like to ask the following question, regarding the following quote:
- There is a subtle difference in the way sugar molecules are utilized. Momentarily, the body uses less sugar. However, sugar is important in fueling the consciousness on its journey. It also aids in connecting the consciousness to the body. In other words, there is indeed a connection that is and must be partially physical, between the body and the travelling consciousness, and it is based upon a certain sugar molecule in a form not normally seen. Before conscious projections I would therefore recommend that you take a small amount of starchy or sugar food. A small snack before bed is a good idea from this viewpoint. Alcohol is of some benefit, though not to any great degree. Excellent results can be achieved in a dream-based projection during the day, in a nap.
- p. 348
How many lines is this in the 1986 edition? -- Mdd (talk) 14:54, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- My book has the entire book at 381 pages. As for the length, do you mean of the above quote only? It is eight lines in my book if you are referring to only the above quote. Does the number of quotes taken from that particular book need to be trimmed down some? I trimmed the quotes from that book down a good bit just a moment ago. You may want to check over it to make sure everything is OK now. OlduvaiGeorge (talk) 15:14, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, with 381 pages the limit is about 190 lines. With that final quote beeing 8 lines, it can be established, that in total there were about 300 lines listed (before the recent trim). Please keep those limits in mind. Of course within those limits, you could still replace particular quotes . -- Mdd (talk) 15:23, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. The book is fairly well represented at the moment, so there should be no issue with the current quotes. It will not happen again. OlduvaiGeorge (talk) 15:35, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
