while visiting the term apartment on the Chinese wikipedia I happened to find this text:

公寓的住房产权各不相同,它可以是大规模的公營住宅,又可以是法律上的公寓大厦(包含多個公寓單位的大楼)内的业主自营(例如公寓楼共有制度),也可以是从私人房东处租赁的租户(参见租約)

which google says means:

Housing ownership in apartments varies from large-scale public housing to owner-operated in legal apartment complexes (buildings containing multiple apartment units) (e.g. condominiums), or tenants renting from a private landlord (see lease) Ottawahitech (talk) 00:20, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I checked some of the images on the Chinese wiki page above and a short distance away found this piece of valuable text on w:History of neighbourhoods in Toronto:
With the disappearance of open spaces in the city of Toronto and the revitalization of the downtown there has been considerable condominium construction creating residential communities in areas that were once almost wholly commercial, such as the Financial Districtand Yorkville. The suburbs have also seen considerable densification. North York Centre has grown into a large cluster of condominiums and office buildings and a similar, though less dramatic process, is occurring at Scarborough City Centre. Since the completion of the Sheppard subway line in 2002, there has been a boom in condominium construction along the route.
Anyone want to bet that the article on condos in enwp does not contain this info? :D Ottawahitech (talk) 00:31, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
