External links

A user has added links to an external site three times that I reverted twice because they appear to have no relevance for quotations. Not wishing to make a third revert unilaterally, I am posting a request for comment at the Village Pump. ~ Ningauble 16:43, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

I fully support your removal of these links - they are extraneous and do not belong on a Wikiquote page. While external links are used here, they should in some way support quotes not just have some link to the subject of the page (e.g. linking to a copy of The Gettysburg Address is appropriate for the Abraham Lincoln page, but linking to a page that describes Lincoln's wardrobe choices would not be appropriate). ~ UDScott 16:55, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
I agree with the removal of the links as well - Is it possible this is a spam-only account? Cirt (talk) 17:43, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
I also support their removal, and have just removed them again. Though I generally like people to provide links to sites with further information on subjects, especially noncommercial ones which could produce more material for quotes or better sourcing, I fully agree that those links to pages of Boxing statistics are plainly not relevant to the purposes of Wikiquote. ~ Kalki 17:44, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Quote Limit

Should we trim this page or we should leave the page with a lot of Quotes? I can't trim it because I might remove the very notable quotes by mistake.(StarWarsFanBoy 20:23, 16 January 2010 (UTC))

WHAT? Your statement makes no sense, we always need to add things, you cant keep things simple, its ridiculous, full versions are welcomed such as

http://en.wikiquote.org/w/index.php?title=Boxing&diff=1070518&oldid=1070389 proper meaning of boxing, reverting is vandalism, stop wanting simple things duh!

As long as quots have meaning, it's popular, keep em no matter how many!

Trimmed intro

I have again removed inappropriate material from the article introduction. [1] Although it might be appropriate for Wikipedia, Wikiquote is not the place for an essay about how boxing rules vary in different venues. Nor, as discussed above, are links to pages of Boxing statistics relevant to Wikiquote's puropose. ~ Ningauble 18:11, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

look dude, just because u r administrator does not give you the right to vandalize, this info, nobody complained about, it is important info that explains situation, first you removed proof, then you removed all, BACK OFF FROM VANDALISM AS U R KILLING GOOD INFO! You cant make things too simple, i can say boxing is when 2 people box, makes sense, so start thinkin!@
right on!
