Reed (plant)

type of grassy plant

Reed is a common name for several tall, grass-like plants of wetlands.

Where there are no reeds, it is the worst of all poverty.

  • Those tall flowering-reeds which stand,
In Arno like a sheaf of sceptres, left
By some remote dynasty of dead gods.
