Mufasa
editCub
- I'm not a stray, I'm just… lost.
Teenager
- Sometimes, I get a scent. It's barely a trace on the wind. It smells like home. Then it's gone.
- I'm here to protect you, my brother.
- He's going to start a new kingdom. Come with us.
- I will not bend to evil. We must fight together.
- I'm not king, not royal blood.
- I can't ever say your name again. I can't and I won't!
- "Scar."
- Operatic roaring like adult Simba at the end of the movie
Taka / Scar
editCub
- (to Mufasa, when they just first met) Hello, I’m Taka; son of Obasi! What’s your name?
- I have a secret, Mufasa. I always wanted a brother.
Teenager
- This was a bad idea!
- Wonderful. Another we're not supposed to eat.
- You stole my destiny.
- Then call me Scar - to remember what I have done.
- Please, don't kill him!
Rafiki
editAdult
- It’s time I tell you a story. A story of a cub not much bigger than you.
- This story begins far beyond the mountains and the shadows on the other side of the light. A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood, a lion who would change our lives forever.
- Long before they became legends, Mufasa and the prince, who would come to be known as Scar, became brothers.
Young
- If you take my life, you will never find where you are going.
- We are nearing destiny, Mufasa. And so the earth must shake.
- Destiny awaits you.
- It's not about what you were, it's what you will become.
- Mufasa, it's your time.
Kiros
edit- The circle is broken. There will be one lion king.
- We have come to rule without mercy.
- This kingdom belongs to me.
- Blood for blood!
Kiara
edit- Rafiki, keep going!
- [yelling] QUIET!!!
- I will take care of you...forever. Little one, let me tell you a story. A story of a great king.
Eshe
edit- Mufasa, run!
- They were huge, white as ghosts, like nothing I've seen before.
- You and Taka together. That is home.
- Taka, your moment of courage will come.
Dialogue
editIn remembrance of James Earl Jones
- Mufasa: [from offscreen; archive audio] Look at the stars, whenever you feel alone, the great kings of the past will always be prepared to guide you. And so will I.
- Kiara: So you two defeated Scar, and then you ate him?
- Timon: Honestly, one of the best meals I ever had.
- Kiara: My dad told me he defeated Scar.
- Timon: Well, ok, but your dad as we all know, is a pathological liar.
- Pumbaa: He's always lyin. Get it? [Suddenly, Thunder rumbles. Kiara, Timon, and Pumbaa scramble for cover. Mysterious creature roars are heard from offscreen with Godzilla roar sound effects. Kiara and Timon cower in-between two rocks.]
- Mufasa got one last operatic roaring like adult Simba at the end of the movie
