The Galician language is traditionally spoken in Galicia, which lies in northwestern Spain. Although this language sounds like a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese, it is an independent language that evolved directly from Latin.

  • Vos dona, eu dona, quen botará o porco fora?
    • Translation: You a lady, I a lady who is to drive out the sow?
    • English equivalent: There are too many chiefs and not enough indians.
    • Proverbs of All Nations. W. Kent & Company (late D. Bogue). 1859. p. 49. Retrieved on 11 June 2013.
