WP:Ghetto edit

I am not sure how familiar wikiquotiens are with the never-ending debate on enwiki regarding the segregation of women-categories to the detriment of articles about women. It started years ago after the Wikipedia’s Sexism Toward Female Novelists story in the NY Times broke out (or even earlier).

I wonder how this affects the way we categorize women here? Anyone? this is how they handle it at enwiki: WP:GHETTO. Ottawahitech (talk) 22:37, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am aware that this is a huge problem. Thank you for that NYT link. Have you read this article by David Auerebach, or this website [1]? I also don't think that we need to copy the categories exactly as they appear in wikipedia in all cases. There is a strong pov and bias in many corners of wikipedia, and if we can do better, we should. -- (talk) 09:59, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Also pinging @Hiàn / @Kotkan lusija‎ in case they are interested.
I have also added more thoughts on this topic on my user talkpage which is where this discussion originated. Ottawahitech (talk) 18:31, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
