Category talk:Foreign films
"Foreign?!?" while this is undoubtedly the English-language Wikiquote, somehow I doubt the label "Foreign" has enough specificity!
That, and it's terribly american-centric. ;)
- I agree; this category doesn't help too much on the World Wide Web. -- LGagnon (talk) 03:17, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I'll third that concern, but I think this category is salvageable. In the U.S., English-language films from Australia, Britain, and Canada don't seem to be considered "foreign films"; that designation seems almost exclusively to apply to non-English-language films. (I haven't run into a case of, say, an English-language Indian film.) How do the "ABC" countries refer to non-English films? Perhaps this category could be titled "Foreign language films" (or, to be pedantic, "Foreign-language films")? On en:Wikiquote, that would be a less clutzy but unambiguous way of rephrasing "non-English-language films". — Jeff Q (talk) 03:15, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I prefer "non-English-language films", though "foreign language films" is still ok. The current name is ambiguous and sounds a certain country-centric (thus not NPOV).--Aphaia 06:24, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
