Saw franchise

I was wondering whether the Saw films would be considered to be about suicide, as many of the characters make suicide attempts. There is also the argument, which is specifically stated in the second film, that the deaths featured are technically self-inflicted. That argument may very depending on whether you are using a legal or theological definition, much as the distinction between abortion and miscarriage or whether such a distinction exists is debatable both legally and theologically.
