Renaming

In the early days here, when all we had were manually created lists of people, I generally opposed articles for fictional characters as potentially too confusing, but now with the Category based system I have fewer objections. I still think that for most characters, their quotes should be placed on pages for the works in which they appear, with redirects made to those, but I know this scheme is not always practical for characters that appear in many diverse works, such as Superman, or Sherlock Holmes. I do think this category, currently named "Characters" should probably be renamed "Fictional characters" for a bit more specificity, while there are still only a few such pages to be altered. "Characters" simply sounds a bit too general a word for this category, and though it is not usually used for non-fictional characters, it can be. ~ Kalki 09:18, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

I agree with such a renaming, and also with the general sentiments that many articles should use merge rather than being in this category (I've added the merge tags to a number of such articles) ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 09:44, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

I think it wise not to create more categories until we attain an larger amount of articles pertaining to the subject. I plan to transwiki the quotes from the KOF series in wikipedia over here. and when its all complete, all create an seperate cat for them. -MegamanZero 17:21, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
