2020s anti-transgender movement in the United Kingdom
movement to limit transgender rights in the U.K.
The 2020s anti-transgender movement in the United Kingdom is a movement opposing rights of transwomen and defending the existing rights of biological (or natal) women. A distinction is made between individuals diagnosed with gender dysphoria and the advocacy of gender self-id; the controversy in the UK is over the second issue. Those opposed to gender self-id are commonly derogatively described as being TERFs, or more formally trans-exclusionary radical feminists.
