Zubayr ibn al-Awwam

companion of Muhammad (594–656)

Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (Template:Lang-ar; 594–656) was an Arab Muslim commander in the service of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the caliphs Abu Bakr (Template:Reign) and Umar (Template:Reign) who played a leading role in the Ridda Wars against rebel tribes in Arabia in 632–633 and later participated in early Muslim conquests of Sasanian Iraq in 633–634, Byzantine Syria in 634–638, and African Exarchate in 639–643.

  1. az-Zubayr was saying:[sic] which according to Fahamsyah translate as "...do not, argue humans regarding (the text of)Qur'an, instead, argue them with Sunnah..". Fahamsyah gave commentary that according to az-Zubayr, the matter of Quran tafsir(exegesis) should not be relying solely on logic, since human knowledges were limited. Fahamsyah said that the contemporary orthodox scholarships of Islam, using this words of az-Zubayr to dismiss the opinions of Ahl al-Ra'y such as Muʿtazila rationalist school of though, which emerg during the Islamic Golden Age era.[5]
