Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too

1974 animated short film directed by John Lounsbery

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too is a 1974 animated short film from Disney released as a double feature with The Island at the Top of the World. A soundtrack album was released simultaneously and featured such songs as "The Honey Tree" and "Birthday, Birthday." The film, whose name is a play on the slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler too" made famous during the 1840 United States presidential election, is based on the fourth and seventh chapters of The House at Pooh Corner, the second Winnie-the-Pooh children's book by A. A. Milne.

The film's plot is based primarily on three A. A. Milne stories: "In which Tigger is unbounced" (Story VII from The House at Pooh Corner), "In which it is shown That Tiggers don't climb trees" (Chapter IV from The House at Pooh Corner), and "In which Pooh & Piglet Go Hunting and Nearly Catch a Woozle" (Chapter III of Winnie the Pooh),

Narrator: Now on this sunny day Pooh, who was a bear of very little brain, tried very hard to think of something.
Winnie the Pooh: Think, think, think, think, think, think, think.
Narrator: And while he was thinking, all of a sudden-
[Tigger bounces Pooh from the log]
Winnie the Pooh: Ooof!
Tigger: Hello, Pooh! Grrrr. I'm Tigger! T-i-double-Guh-er! That spells Tigger!
Winnie the Pooh: I know. You've bounced me before.
Tigger: I did? Oh, yeah! I re-cog-go-nize you! You're the one that's stuffed with fluff!
Winnie the Pooh: Yeah, and you're sitting on it.
Tigger: Yeah, and it's comfy, too! Hoo-hoo-hoo! Well, I gotta go, now! I got a lot of bouncing to do! Hoo-hoo-hoo! T-T-F-N! Ta ta for now!
Narrator: Well, there goes Tigger, always bouncing in on his friends when they least expect him. [Piglet is sweeping outside of his house, until Tigger bounces him, sending his broom flying]
Piglet: Ooof!
Tigger: Grrrr! Oh, hello, Piglet! I'm Tigger!
Piglet: Oh, Tigger! You scared me!
Tigger: Oh, shucks! That was just one of my little bounces!
Piglet: It was? Oh, thank you, Tigger.
Tigger: Yeah, I'm saving my best bounce for Old Long-ears! Hoo-hoo-hoo! Ta ta!
Rabbit: Hum-de-dum-dum. Hum-de-dum-dum. Hum de-dum-dum-dum-de-dum-dum. There! That should do it! Oh no! Stop! oh come back. [Tigger bounces him]
Tigger: Hello, Rabbit! I'm Tigger! T-I-double guh-
Rabbit: [pushes Tigger out of the way] Please, please! Don't spell it! Oh, dear. Oh, dear. Just-just look at my beautiful garden! [Tigger's foot is stuck inside the pumpkin]
Tigger: Yuck! Messy, isn't it?
Rabbit: Messy?! Messy?! It's ruined! It's ruined, Tigger! Oh, why don't you ever stop bouncing?
Tigger: Why? That's what tiggers do best! Hoo-hoo-hoo!

Tigger: Hey there, y' two blokes! Where've y' bin?
Winnie the Pooh: We've been trying to find our way back home.
Piglet: Pooh, I don't think Rabbit's "Splendid Idea" worked.
Tigger: Say! Where is Old Long-ears anyway?
Winnie the Pooh: He must still be missing, in the mist.
Tigger: Well, well! Leave it t' me! I'll bounce 'im outta there! T.T.F.N.: Ta-ta-for-now!

Tigger: Hallo, Rabbit!
Rabbit: Tigger! B-b-but you're supposed to be lost.
Tigger: [patting Rabbit's cheeks] Aw, tiggers never get lost, bunny boy.
Rabbit: [dazed] Never... get... lost
Tigger: Of course not!
Rabbit: Oh, no.
Tigger: Now, come on, Rabbit, let's go home! Hang on!
Narrator: So they started back. And Rabbit was now… a humiliated Rabbit, a lost-and-found Rabbit, an "Oh, why, oh why do these things to me" Rabbit.

Tigger: [as Roo is swinging on his tail] S-s-s-s-s-stop that, kid! Please! S-T-O-P, stop! You're rockin' the forest!

The Narrator: [chuckles] Well, Tigger, your bouncing really got you into trouble this time.
Tigger: [puzzled] Say, who are you?
The Narrator: I'm the narrator.
Tigger: [pleads desperately] Oh, well then, please, for goodness sakes, narrate me down from here!
The Narrator: Very well. Hold on tight.
[Turns the book sideways as Tigger yells and yelps in fright]
Christopher Robin: You can let go now, Tigger.
Tigger: [stammers in panic, then covers his eyes] N-n-n-n-n-n-n-never!
The Narrator: But Tigger, look for yourself. You're perfectly safe. [Tigger peeks down at the text, then gingerly lets go of the tree, and sits on the text as the Narrator chuckles] What did I tell you, Tigger? [Tigger smiles] Come on. [turns the book again, this time slanted] Back we go! [Tigger yelps as he slides down the text, then lands in the snow]

Tigger: Not even just... one teensy weensy bounce?
Rabbit: Not even a smidgen of a bounce!
Kanga: Oh, the poor dear. Oh, that's too bad.
Roo: Christopher Robin, I like the old, bouncy Tigger best.
[cut to Tigger sadly walking away]
Christopher Robin: So do I, Roo.
Piglet: I do, too.
Roo: Me, too.
Kanga: Of course, we all do. Don't you agree, Rabbit?
Rabbit: [realizing what is going and stops smiling] I uh...
Christopher Robin: Well, Rabbit?
Rabbit: Well, uh, uh, that is, I-uh, what I mean...
Winnie the Pooh: Well?
Rabbit: Uh, I uh... [sighs] Oh, all right. I guess I like the old Tigger better, too.
Tigger: [Pounces Rabbit-Overjoyed] Oh, boy! You mean I can have my bounce back?! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Come on, Rabbit! Let's you and me bounce, huh?
Rabbit: Good heavens! M-m-m-me bounce?!
Tigger: Why, certainly! And look, you've got the feet for it.
Rabbit: [looking at his feet eagerly] I have?
Tigger: Sure! Come on, try it! It make ya feel grrreat!
