Urvashi Vaid
Indian and American writer, lawyer and LGBTQ+ activist (1958–2022)
Urvashi Vaid (8 October 1958 – 14 May 2022) was known for her 25 years dedicated to promoting civil rights issues for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons. She was also known for her award winning book entitled Virtual Equality: The Mainstreaming of Gay and Lesbian Liberation. Vaid lived with her partner, comedian Kate Clinton.
