Season 1 edit

Chapter 1: The Mandalorian [1.1] edit

Stormtrooper: We have you four to one!
The Mandalorian: I like those odds.

[The Mandalorian and IG-11 have defeated the Nikto bodyguards surrounding their target bounty and have seen its floating crib]
The Mandalorian: They said 50 years old.
IG-11: Species age differently. Perhaps it could live many centuries. [a green-skinned creature the size of a human baby appears out of the sheets] Sadly, we'll never know.
The Mandalorian: [holds off IG-11 from firing] No, we'll bring it in alive.
IG-11: The commission was quite specific. The asset was to be terminated. [aims blaster at creature]
[a shot is fired and IG-11 falls, revealing that the Mandalorian blasted the droid]

Chapter 2: The Child [1.2] edit

Kuiil: I have never met a Mandalorian. I've only read the stories. If they are true, you will make quick work of it. Then there will again be peace. I have spoken.

[Kuiil and Mando have successfully repaired the Razor Crest with the parts recovered from the Jawas]
The Mandalorian: I can't thank you enough. Please allow me to give you a portion of the reward.
Kuiil: I cannot accept. You are my guest, and I am therefore in your service.
The Mandalorian: I could use a crew member of your ability. And I can pay handsomely.
Kuiil: I am honored. But I have worked a lifetime to finally be free of servitude.
The Mandalorian: I understand. Then... all I can offer is my thanks.
Kuiil: And I offer mine. Thank you for bringing peace to my valley. [leaves the ship and mounts his blurrg; to Mando] And good luck with the Child. May it survive and bring you a handsome reward. I have spoken.

Kuiil: You need to drop your rifle.
The Mandalorian: I'm a Mandalorian. Weapons are part of my religion.

Chapter 3: The Sin [1.3] edit

[Mando visits the Armorer at the Mandalorian enclave on Nevarro, bringing the camtono of Beskar bars he got as bounty from The Client]
Armorer: [looks at Beskar bars as the other Mandalorians witness] This amount can be shaped in many ways.
The Mandalorian AKA Mando: My armor has lost its integrity. I may need to begin again.
Armorer: Indeed. I can form a full cuirass. This would be in order for your station.
Mando: That would be a great honour.
Armorer: I must warn you, it will draw many eyes.
Paz Vizsla: [grabs one Beskar bar and snorts at seeing the Imperial logo] These were cast in an Imperial smelter. These are the spoils of the Great Purge. The reason we live hidden like sandrats. [tosses the bar back on the table]
Armorer: Our secrecy is our survival. Our survival is our strength.
Vizsla: Our strength was once in our numbers. Now we live in the shadows and only come above ground one at a time. Our world was shattered by the Empire with whom this coward shares tables. [reaches for Mando's helmet to remove it but they fight until they come to knifepoint]
Armorer: [stands up to stop the fight] The Empire is no longer, and the Beskar has returned. When one chooses to walk the Way of the Mandalore, you are both hunter and prey. How can one be a coward if one chooses this way of life? Have you ever removed your helmet?
Mando: No.
Armorer: Has it ever been removed by others?
Mando: Never.
Armorer: This is the Way.
Mandalorians: This is the Way. [Vizsla and Mando let off each other]
Vizsla: This is the Way.
Armorer: What caused this damage?
Mando: A mudhorn.
Armorer: Then you have earned the mudhorn as your signet. I shall craft it. [The Mandalorian and the Armorer sit back down]
Mando: I can't accept. It... wasn't a noble kill. I was... helped by an enemy.
Armorer: Why would an enemy help you in battle?
Mando: It... did not know it was my enemy.
Armorer: Since you forego a signet I shall use the excess to forge Whistling Birds.
Mando: Whistling Birds will do well. Reserve some for the Foundlings.
Armorer: As it should always be. The Foundlings are the future. This is the Way.
Mandalorians: This is the Way.
Mando: This is the Way.

[Greef Karga and all bounty hunters have just trapped The Mandalorian and the Child from escaping, but the other Mandalorians in the area suddenly attack]
Paz Viszla: [to Mando] Get out of here. We'll hold 'em off!
Mando: You're going to have to relocate the covert!
Paz: This is the Way.
Mando: This is the Way.

Chapter 4: Sanctuary [1.4] edit

The Mandalorian: [to the Child] Listen. I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna look around. It shouldn’t take too long. Now, don’t touch anything. I’ll find us some lodging, then I’ll come back for you. You stay right here. You stay. Don’t move. You understand? Great. [the Child follows him out of the Razor Crest anyway] Oh, what the hell? Come on.

The Mandalorian: [about Grogu] Traveling with me, that's no life for a kid. I did my job, he's safe. Better chance at life.
Cara Dune: It's gonna break his little heart.

[Cara Dune has just killed a bounty hunter that was about to assassinate the Child]
Cara Dune: Who is he tracking?
The Mandalorian: The kid.
Cara: They know he's here.
The Mandalorian: Yes.
Cara: Then they'll keep coming.
The Mandalorian: Yes. [crushes the bounty hunter's tracking fob]

Chapter 5: The Gunslinger [1.5] edit

Bounty Hunter: I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold.
The Mandalorian: That's my line.

Chapter 6: The Prisoner [1.6] edit

Burg: Someone tell me why we even need a Mandalorian.
Migs Mayfield: Well, apparently they're the greatest warriors in the galaxy. So they say.
Burg: Then why are they all dead?

Migs Mayfield: He never takes off the helmet?
Xi'an: This is the Way.
Mayfield: Huh. I wonder what you look like under there. Maybe he's a Gungan. Is that why yousa don't wanna show your face?

Chapter 7: The Reckoning [1.7] edit

[The Mandalorian is not too accepting of IG-11 working as Kuill's servant droid after seeing it almost kill the Child]
Mando: That thing is programmed to kill the baby.
Kuiil: Not anymore. [as IG-11 places the tea tray on the table, Kuill remembers the aftermath of the original battle and his efforts to rebuild the droid] It was left behind in the wake of your destruction. I found it, laying where it fell, devoid of all life. I recovered the flotsam and staked it as my own in accordance with the Charter of the New Republic. Little remained of its neural harness. Reconstruction was quite difficult, but not impossible. It had to learn everything from scratch. This is something that cannot be taught with the twist of a spanner. It requires patience, repetition. I spent day after day reinforcing its development with patience and affirmation. It developed a personality as its experiences grew.
Mando: Is it still a hunter?
Kuiil: No. But it will protect.
IG-11: [lifting a cup] Tea?

Kuiil: Do you trust me?
The Mandalorian: From what I can tell, yes.
Kuiil: Then you will trust my work. IG-11 will join me. And we do it not for payment, but to protect the child from Imperial slavery. None will be free until the old ways are gone forever.
Mando: Okay.
Kuiil: And the blurrgs will join me as well.
Mando: The blurrgs?
Kuiil: I have spoken.

[Karga is pretending Mando is his captive]
Stormtrooper: I'll give you 20 credits for the helmet.
Greef Karga: Ha! Not a chance! That's going on my wall.
The Mandalorian: On your wall?
Karga: Go with it.

Chapter 8: Redemption [1.8] edit

[Moff Gideon calls out to Greef Karga, Cara Dune, and the Mandalorian as they try to slip out of their building]
Moff Gideon: Your astute panic suggests that you understand your situation. I would prefer to avoid any further violence, and encourage a moment of consideration. Members of my escort have completed assembly of an E-Web heavy repeating blaster. If you are unfamiliar with this weapon, I am sure that Republican Shock Trooper Carasynthia Dune of Alderaan will advise you that she has witnessed many of her ranks vaporize mid-descent facing the predecessor of this particular model. Or perhaps the decommissioned Mandalorian hunter, Din Djarin, has heard the songs of the Siege of Mandalore, when gunships outfitted with similar ordnance laid waste to fields of Mandalorian recruits in The Night of a Thousand Tears. I advise disgraced Magistrate Greef Karga to search the wisdom of his years and urge you to lay down your arms and come outside. The structure you are trapped in will be razed in short order and your storied lives will come to an unceremonious end.

The Mandalorian: He knew my name... I haven't heard that name spoken since I was a child.
Greef Karga: On Mandalore?
Mando: I was not born on Mandalore.
Karga: But you're a Mandalorian.
Cara Dune: Mandalorian isn't a race.
Mando: It's a Creed.

IG-11: This is bacta spray. It will heal you in a matter of hours. You have suffered damage to your central processing unit.
The Mandalorian: You mean my brain?
IG-11: That was a joke. It is meant to put you at ease.

[The Mandalorian, the Child, IG-11, Greef Karga, and Cara Dune enter the Mandalorian covert on Nevarro, but Mando stops at seeing a pile of Mandalorian armor pieces]
Cara Dune: We should go.
Mando: You go. Take the ship. I can't leave it this way. [to Greef] Did you know about this? Is this the work of your bounty hunters?
Greef Karga: No. When you left the system and took the prize, the fighting ended and the hunters just melted away. You know how it is. They're mercenaries. They're not zealots.
Mando: [confronts Greef] Did you do this? DID YOU?!
Karga: No!
Armorer: It was not his fault. We revealed ourselves. We knew what could happen if we left the covert. [puts a piece of armour from the pile onto a floating cart] The Imperials arrived shortly thereafter. This is what resulted.
Mando: Did any survive?
Armorer: I hope so. Some may have escaped off-world.
Mando: Come with us.
Armorer: No. I will not abandon this place until I have salvaged what remains. [goes to the forge, and the others see her melt down armour pieces] Show me the one whose safety deemed such destruction.
Mando: [IG-11 reveals the Child] This is the one.
Armorer: This is the one you hunted, then saved?
Mando: Yes. The one that saved me as well.
Armorer: From the mudhorn?
Mando: Yes.
Armorer: It looks helpless.
Mando: It's injured, but it is not helpless. Its species can move objects with its mind.
Armorer: [keeps working] I know of such things. The songs of eons past tell of battles between Mandalore the Great and an order of sorcerers called "Jedi" that fought with such powers.
Mando: It is an enemy?
Armorer: No. It's kind were enemies, but this individual is not.
Mando: What is it?
Armorer: It is a foundling. By Creed, it is in your care.
Mando: You wish me to train this thing?
Armorer: It is too weak. It would die. You have no choice. You must reunite it with its own kind.
Mando: Where?
Armorer: This, you must determine.
Mando: You expect me to search the galaxy for the home of this creature and deliver it to a race of enemy sorcerers?
Armorer: This is the Way.

[Cara warns of Imperial troops about to raid the covert]
Mando: I'm staying. I need to help her, and I need to heal.
Armorer: You must go. A Foundling is in your care. By Creed, until it is of age or reunited with its own kind, you are as its father. This is the Way. You have earned your Signet. [welds a mudhorn-shaped Signet to Mando's right shoulder pauldron] You are a clan of two.
Mando: Thank you. I will wear this with honour.
Greef Karga: [as explosions occur nearby and Stormtroopers are coming in] We should go.
Armorer: IG, please guard the outer hallway. A scouting party draws near.
Cara Dune: [not comfortable with the Child in her arms] Hang on. I don't do the baby thing.
Armorer: I have one more gift for your journey. Have you trained in the Rising Phoenix?
Mando: When I was a boy, yes.
Armorer: Then this [turns around with a jetpack in her hands] will make you complete.
Mando: Thank you.
Armorer: When you have healed, you will begin your drills. Until you know it, it will not listen to your commands.
Mando: I understand.

[the Mandalorian has detected a group of Imperial soldiers at the far end of a lava tunnel]
IG-11: They will not be satisfied with anything less than the Child. This is unacceptable. I will eliminate the enemy, and you will escape.
Mando: You don't have that kind of firepower, pal. You wouldn't even get to daylight.
IG-11: That is not my objective.
Cara Dune: We're getting close. Saddle up.
IG-11: I still have the security protocols from my manufacturer. If my designs are compromised, I must self-destruct.
Mando: What are you talking about?
IG-11: I'm not permitted to be captured. I must be destroyed.
Greef Karga: Are we gonna keep talking or we gonna get outta here?
IG-11: [puts down the jetpack] I can no longer carry this for you. Nor can I watch over the child. [passing the Child to the Mandalorian]
Mando: Wait. You can't self-destruct. Your base command is to watch the child. That supersedes your manufacturer's protocol, right? Right?
IG-11: This is correct.
Mando: Good. Now grab a blaster and help us shoot our way out.
IG-11: Victory through combat is impossible. We will be captured. The Child will be lost. Sadly, there is no scenario where the Child is saved in which I survive.
Mando: Listen, you're not going anywhere. We need you. Let's just come with a-
IG-11: Please tell me the Child will be safe in your care. If you do so, I can default to my secondary command.
Mando: But you'll be destroyed.
IG-11: And you will live, and I will have served my purpose.
Mando: [emotional] No. We need you.
IG-11: There is nothing to be sad about. I have never been alive.
Mando: I'm not sad.
IG-11: Yes you are. I'm a nurse droid. I've analyzed your voice. [caressing the Child in farewell]
Greef: IG! [sees droid step off the boat into the lava stream] What are you doing?!
[IG-11 marches through the lava stream to the mouth of the tunnel, with the Stormtroopers lying in ambush]
IG-11: Manufacturer's protocol dictates I cannot be captured. [opens breastplate to reveal an active grenade] I must be destroyed. [blows up, killing the Stormtroopers]

[Moff Gideon comes at them in a TIE fighter]
Cara Dune: Our blasters are useless against him.
Greef Karga: Hey, let's make the baby do the magic hand thing. Come on, baby! Do the magic hand thing! [the Child only waves at him] I'm out of ideas.

Greef Karga: Nevarro is a very fine planet. And now that the scum and villainy have been washed away, it's very respectale again.
The Mandalorian: As a bounty hunter hive?
Karga: Some of my favorite people are bounty hunters.

Greef Karga: Go off, enjoy yourself. And when you're ready to return, you will have the pick of all quarries.
The Mandalorian: I'm afraid I have more pressing matters at hand.
Cara Dune: Take care of the little one.
Karga: Or maybe it'll take care of you.

Season 2 edit

Chapter 9: The Marshal [2.1] edit

Peli Motto: [to her pit droids] Hey, hey, hey! Sorry, gang. Come on. You know he doesn't like droids.
The Mandalorian: May as well let them have at it. The Crest needs a good once-over.
Motto: Oh, so he likes droids now! Well, you heard him! Give it a once-over.

The Mandalorian: Who are you?
Cobb Vanth: I'm Cobb Vanth, Marshal of Mos Pelgo.
Mando: Where did you get the armor?
Vanth: Bought it off some Jawas.
Mando: Hand it over.
Vanth: Look, pal, I'm sure you call the shots where you come from, but 'round here, I'm the one tells folks what to do.
Mando: Take it off, or I will.
Vanth: [about the Child] We gonna do this in front o' the kid?
Mando: He's seen worse.

[Cobb Vanth recalls to the Mandalorian the story of Mos Pelgo]
Cobb Vanth: You don’t understand what it was like. The town was on its last legs. It started after we got news of the Death Star blowing up. The second one, that is. [flashes back to one particular night at the Mos Pelgo Cantina] The Empire was pullin’ outta Tattooine. There was blaster fire over Mos Eisley. The occupation was over. We didn’t even have time to celebrate. That very night, the Mining Collective moved in. Power hates a vacuum and Mos Pelgo became a slave camp overnight. I lit out. Took what I could from the invaders. Grabbed a camtono. I had no idea it was full of silicax crystals. I guess every once in a while, both suns shine on a womp rat’s tail. I wandered for days. No food, no water. [image of Vanth being rescued by the Jawas] And then... I was saved. [Inside Sandcrawler] The Jawas wanted the crystals. They offered their finest in exchange. [remembers pointing to what is actually Boba Fett's armor] And my treasure bought me more than a full waterskin. It bought my freedom.

[Mando says something to the Sand People, and they add more people to the strategy plan]
Cobb Vanth: That's more like it. Where are they getting the reinforcements?
The Mandalorian: I volunteered your village.

[When the Mandalorian tells Cobb Vanth that he's volunteered the Mos Pelgo residents to attack the krayt dragon, Vanth tries to explain this to the people]
Cobb Vanth: This here is a Mandalorian. You know what that means?
Man: We’ve heard the stories.
Vanth: Then you know how good they are at killing. Now, this one’s got a problem. I got a suit o’ salvaged armor and the Mandalorian Creed says it’s his to take. [people grumble] But I’ve got a problem, too. A krayt dragon has been peeling off our pack animals, and sometimes, taking our mining haul with it. It’s just a matter of time before it grows tired of banthas and goes after a couple of you townsfolk, or even, so help us, the school. [residents get agitated] As much as I’ve grown fond of the armor, I’m even more fond of this town. The Mandalorian is willing to help us slay the leviathan in exchange for returning the armor to its ancestral owners. [people approve] Well, that settles it. There’s more. We can’t take on the krayt alone. And the Sand People are willing to help. [residents fume]
Residents: They raid our mines! They’re monsters!
The Mandalorian: I’ve seen the size of that thing, it will swallow your entire town when the fancy hits it. You’re lucky Mos Pelgo isn’t a sand field already. I know these people. They are brutal, but so is the Dune Sea. They’ve survived for thousands of years in these sands and they know the krayt dragon better than anyone here. They are raiders, it’s true. But they also keep their word. We have struck a deal. If we are willing to leave them the carcass and its ichor, they will stand by our side in battle and vow never to raise a blaster against this town until one of you breaks the peace.
Vanth: Think it’ll work?
The Mandalorian: It better. Joining forces is their only hope.

Chapter 10: The Passenger [2.2] edit

[As she could not speak Basic, the Frog Lady uses a microphone set up from the remains of Q9-0 to speak the language]
Frog Lady: [in Basic] Wake up, Mandalorian. [Mandalorian rouses from sleep] This cannot wait until morning. Do not be alarmed. I bypassed the droid’s security protocols and accessed its vocabulator.
The Mandalorian: What the hell are you doing? That droid is a killer.
Frog Lady: These eggs are the last brood of my life cycle. My husband has risked his life to carve out an existence for us on the only planet that is hospitable to our species. We fought too hard and suffered too much to resign ourselves to the extinction of our family line. I must demand that you hold true to the deal that you agreed to.
The Mandalorian: Look, lady, the deal is off. We’re lucky if we get off this frozen tomb with our lives.
Frog Lady: I thought honoring one’s word was a part of the Mandalorian code. I guess those are just stories for children.

[The Mandalorian tries to break out of the ice cave under attack by the Krykna spiders, until Carson Teva and Trapper Wolf surprise him by shooting up the spiders]
Carson Teva: [to Mandalorian] We ran the tabs on the Razor Crest. You have an arrest warrant for the abduction of prisoner X-6911. However, onboard security records show that you apprehended three priority culprits from the Wanted Register. Security records also show that you put your own life in harm’s way to try to protect that of Lieutenant Davan from the New Republic Correctional Corps. Is this true?
The Mandalorian: Am I under arrest?
Teva: Technically, you should be. But these are trying times.
The Mandalorian: What say I forego the bounties on these three criminals, and you two help me fuse my hull so I can get off this frozen rock?
Teva: What say you fix that transponder, and we don’t vaporize that antique the next time we patrol the Rim?
The Mandalorian: All right. I’m gonna repair the cockpit enough for us to limp to Trask. [to the Frog Lady and the Child] There’s nothing I can do about the main hull’s integrity, so we’re gonna have to get cozy.

Chapter 11: The Heiress [2.3] edit

[Three Mandalorians - a man and two women - save Mando and the Child as they are trapped by the mamacore nestling under the Quarren trawler]
The Mandalorian: Thank you. I’ve been searching for more of our kind.
Bo-Katan Kryze: Well, lucky we found you first.
The Mandalorian: I’ve been quested to deliver this Child. I was hoping that... [as the trio remove their helmets] Where did you get that armor?
Kryze: This armor has been in my family for three generations.
The Mandalorian: You do not cover your face. You are not Mandalorian.
Axe Wolves: [to teammates] He’s one of them.
Koska Reeves: Dank farrik.
The Mandalorian: One of what?
Kryze: I am Bo-Katan of Clan Kryze. I was born on Mandalore and fought in the Purge. I am the last of my line. And you are a Child of the Watch.
The Mandalorian: The Watch?
Kryze: Children of the Watch are a cult of religious zealots that broke away from Mandalorian society. Their goal was to re-establish the ancient way.
The Mandalorian: There is only one way. The Way of the Mandalore. [flies away with the Child]

[Bo-Katan aims her dagger at the Gozanti Captain's throat]
Bo-Katan Kryze: Where is it?
Captain: Where’s what?
Kryze: The Darksaber. Does he have it?!
Captain: If you’re asking, you already know.
Kryze: I’ll let you live. But you will take me to him.
Captain: You might let me live, but he won’t. [bites his teeth and commits suicide by triggering an electric charge]

The Mandalorian: Where can I find the Jedi?
Bo-Katan Kryze: Take the foundling to the city of Calodan on the forest planet of Corvus. There you will find Ahsoka Tano. Tell her you were sent by Bo-Katan. And thank you. Your bravery will not be forgotten. This is the Way.
Mando: This is the Way.

Chapter 12: The Siege [2.4] edit

Greef Karga: [to the Child] Come here, little one! Has Mando been taking good care of you, huh? Have you been takin' good care o' him? Yeah? Yeah! He said "yeah!" Oh, yeah.

[The Mandalorian, Greef Karga, Cara Dune, and Mythrol infiltrate the Imperial FOB, but Dune is surprised at the Imperial scientists present and the cloning tanks]
Greef Karga: What the...
Cara Dune: I thought you said this was a forward operating base.
Karga: I thought it was.
Cara Dune: No, this isn’t a military operation. This is a lab. We need to get into the system and figure out what’s going on.
Mythrol: What about the reactor…
Dune: Do it!
The Mandalorian: I don’t like this.
Mythrol: Pardon me. [runs console, and a hologram of Dr Pershing appears]
Dr. Pershing: ...replicated the results of the subsequent trials, which also resulted in catastrophic failure. There were promising effects for an entire fortnight, but then, sadly, the body rejected the blood. I highly doubt we’ll find a donor with a higher M-count, though. I recommend that we suspend all experimentation. I fear that the volunteer will meet the same regrettable fate if we proceed with the transfusion. Unfortunately, we have exhausted our initial supply of blood. The Child is small, and I was only able to harvest a limited amount without killing him. If these experiments are to continue as requested, we would again require access to the donor. I will not disappoint you again, Moff Gideon.
The Mandalorian: This must be an old transmission. Moff Gideon is dead.
Mythrol: No. This recording’s three days old.

[Carson Teva talks to Cara Dune, investigating the destruction of the Imperial FOB]
Carson Teva: So, is there anything else you can remember before the base exploded?
Greef Karga: No.
Teva: How long after the Razor Crest jumped out--
Karga: [scoffs] I never said anything about a Razor Crest.
Teva: Your transponder log has a--
Karga: “Transponder log.” Come on, give me a break. The control droid can’t tell apart anything pre-Empire. This isn’t Coruscant.
Teva: Do you have anything else to add?
Karga: Not that I can think of, Officer. But if somethin’ does come to mind, I’ll be sure to send you a ‘gram. That is, if you’re ever out this far again.
[Carson Teva leaves and meets Cara Dune outside.]
Teva: You did a hell of a job cleanin’ up the system. According to records, you’re quite a soldier. We could really use you.
Dune: I’m not a “joiner,” Blue.
Teva: There’s something going on out here. They don’t believe it on the Core Worlds, but it’s true. These aren’t isolated incidents. They need to be stopped before it’s too late. But we can’t do it without local support. Says here you’re from Alderaan. I served during Alderaan. Did you lose anyone?
Dune: [sadly] I lost everyone.
Teva: I’m sorry for your loss.

Chapter 13: The Jedi [2.5] edit

[The Mandalorian has just made contact with Ahsoka Tano]
The Mandalorian: Ahsoka Tano! [exhausted] Bo-Katan sent me. We need to talk.
Ahsoka Tano: I hope it’s about him. [referring to the Child, who reacts at her]
The Mandalorian: Is he speaking? Do you understand him?
Tano: In a way. Grogu and I can feel each other’s thoughts.
The Mandalorian: Grogu?
[The Child turns to face The Mandalorian]
Tano: Yes. That’s his name.
The Mandalorian: Grogu.
[Grogu turns toward The Mandalorian again, and coos softly]
Tano: He was raised at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Many Masters trained him over the years. At the end of the Clone Wars when the Empire rose to power, he was hidden. Someone took him from the Temple. Then his memory becomes... dark. He seemed lost. Alone. I’ve only known one other being like this. A wise Jedi Master named Yoda. Can he still wield the Force?
The Mandalorian: You mean his powers?
Tano: The Force is what gives him his powers. It is an energy field created by all living things. To wield it takes a great deal of training and discipline.
The Mandalorian: I’ve seen him do things I can’t explain. My task was to bring him to a Jedi.
Tano: The Jedi Order fell a long time ago.
The Mandalorian: So did the Empire, yet it still hunts him. He needs your help.
Tano: Let him sleep. I’ll test him in the morning. Let’s see what knowledge is lurking inside that little mind.

Ahsoka Tano: I've seen what such feelings can do to a fully trained Jedi Knight. To the best of us. I will not start this child down that path.

Ahsoka Tano: I want to see if he'll listen to you.
The Mandalorian: That would be a first.
Ahsoka Tano: I like firsts. Good or bad, they're always memorable.

The Mandalorian: A Mandalorian and a Jedi? They'll never see it coming.

Ahsoka Tano: You're like a father to him. I cannot train him.
The Mandalorian: You made me a promise, and I held up my end.
Tano: There is one possibility. Go to the planet Tython. You will find the ancient ruins of a temple that has a strong connection to the Force. Place Grogu on the seeing stone at the top of the mountain.
Mando: Then what?
Tano: Then Grogu may choose his path. If he reaches out through the Force, there's a chance a Jedi may sense his presence and come searching for him. Then again, there aren't many Jedi left.
Mando: Thank you.
Tano: May the Force be with you.

[Ahsoka Tano has just defeated Morgan Elsbeth and has a lightsaber at her throat]
Ahsoka Tano: Where is your master? [puts blade much closer] Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?

Chapter 14: The Tragedy [2.6] edit

The Mandalorian: [to Grogu] You're very special, kid. We're gonna find that place you belong and they're gonna take real good care of you. This is Tython. That's where we're gonna try and find you a Jedi. But you have to agree to go with them if they want you to. Understand? Plus, I can't train you. You're too powerful. Don't you wanna learn more of that Jedi stuff? I agreed to take you back to your own kind, so that's what I need to do. You understand, right?

The Mandalorian: Well, I guess this is it. [the Seeing Stone is sitting in front of him and Grogu] Does this look Jedi to you?

[The Mandalorian has brought Grogu to Tython, but had just been repulsed by the Child's meditation field out of a desperate need to get out of there upon seeing a spacecraft land nearby. He runs into Boba Fett.]
Boba Fett: I’ve been tracking you, Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian: Are you Jedi? Or are you after the Child?
Fett: I’m here for the armor.
The Mandalorian: If you want my armor, you’ll have to peel it off my dead body.
Fett: I don’t want your armor. I want my armor that you got from Cobb Vanth back on Tatooine. It belongs to me.
The Mandalorian: Are you Mandalorian?
Fett: I’m a simple man making his way through the galaxy. Like my father before me.
The Mandalorian: Did you take the Creed?
Fett: I give my allegiance to no one.
The Mandalorian: The Beskar belongs to the Mandalorians. It was looted from us during the Purge.
Fett: The armor was my father’s. Now it’s mine.
The Mandalorian: What’s to stop me from dropping you right where you stand?
Fett: Because I have a sharpshooter up on that ridge with a locked scope that will unload by the time my body hits the ground.
The Mandalorian: I’m the one wearing Beskar. As soon as I see that muzzle flash, you’re both dead.
Fett: I didn’t mean she was going to shoot you. My friend’s locked onto that little companion of yours up on the henge. [points to person atop a nearby boulder]
Female Voice: And if you remember, I don’t miss.
The Mandalorian: [recognizes it] Fennec?
Fennec Shand: You have a keen ear, Mando.
The Mandalorian: You point that gun away from the kid or I’ll drop you both where you stand.
Fett: Let’s all put down our weapons, have a chat. There’s no need for bloodshed.
The Mandalorian: Tell her to drop the gun.
Fett: After you put down the jetpack.
The Mandalorian: Same time.
Fett: [to Fennec as he and Mando do it] Stand down.
Shand: You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.
The Mandalorian: You were dead.
Fett: She was left for dead on the sands of Tatooine, as was I. But fate sometimes steps in to rescue the wretched.
Fennec: In my case, Boba Fett was that fate. [reveals cybernetics in her torso] And I am now in his service.
Fett: I want my armor back.
The Mandalorian: It goes against the Mandalorian Creed.
Fett: The armor was given to my father, Jango Fett, by your forebears. In exchange, I guarantee the safety of the Child, as well as your own.
Fennec: The bounty on your little friend has risen significantly. You can buy ten suits of armor for the price on its head.
Fett: I’d say we’re offering a fair deal under the circumstances.

[The Mandalorian has just perused the wreck of the Razor Crest, only finding Grogu's favorite control knob and the Beskar spear]
The Mandalorian: This is all that survived. [shows Boba Fett the spear]
Boba Fett: Beskar. I want you to take a look at something. [shows Mandalorian-language holographic symbols from his forearm] My chain code has been encoded in this armor for 25 years. [points out symbols] You see, this is me. Boba Fett. This is my father, Jango Fett.
The Mandalorian: Your father was a Foundling.
Fett: Yes. He even fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars.
The Mandalorian: Then that armor belongs to you.
Fett: I appreciate its return.
The Mandalorian: Then our deal is complete.
Fett: Not quite.
The Mandalorian: How so?
Fett: We agreed in exchange for the return of my armor, we will ensure the safety of the Child.
The Mandalorian: The Child’s gone.
Fett: Until he is returned to you safely, we are in your debt.

Cara Dune: You know how I feel about the Empire, but these stripes...mean there are rules I need to follow.
The Mandalorian: They have the kid.

Chapter 15: The Believer [2.7] edit

Migs Mayfield: [to Fett] You know, for a second, I thought you were this other guy.
[Mando walks out of the ship]
The Mandalorian: Mayfield.
Mayfield: ...Hey, Mando. Long time.

Cara Dune: They have his kid.
Mayfield: The little green guy?
Cara: Yeah, "the little green guy".

Fennec Shand: Wonder what they're refining in there.
Boba Fett: Looks like rhydonium. Highly volatile and explosive.
Migs Mayfield: Yeah, kinda like this one. [gestures towards Mando]

Mayfield: If you get scanned and your genetic signature shows up on any New Republic register, you're gonna be detected, and it's guns out.
Cara Dune: You sure know a lot about Imperial Remnants.
Mayfield: If you wanna accuse me of something, then just say it.
The Mandalorian: We don't have time. Fennec will go.
Fennec Shand: No, I'm wanted by the ISB. I'll trip the alarm.
The Mandalorian: Fett?
Boba Fett: Let's just say they might recognize my face.

Migs Mayfield: [to Mando] Empire, New Republic. It's all the same to these people. Invaders on their land is all we are. I'm just sayin', somewhere someone in this galaxy is ruling and others are being ruled. I mean, look at your race. Do you think all those people that died in wars fought by Mandalorians actually had a choice? So how are they any different than the Empire? If you were born on Mandalore, you believe one thing, if you're born on Alderaan, you believe somethin' else. But guess what? Neither one of 'em exist anymore.

Migs Mayfield: Hey, I'm just a realist. I'm a survivor, just like you.
The Mandalorian: Let's get one thing straight: You and I are nothing alike.
Mayfield: I don't know. Seems to me like your rules start to change when you get desperate. I mean, look at ya. You said you couldn't take your helmet off, and now you got a stormtrooper one on, so what's the rule? Is it that you can't take off your Mando helmet, or you can't show your face? 'Cause there is a difference. Look, I'm just sayin', we're all the same. Everybody's got their lines they don't cross until things get messy. As far as I'm concerned, if you can make it through your day and still sleep at night, you're doin' better than most.

Valin Hess: [to Mando] What's your name, Officer?
Migs Mayfield: We just call him Brown Eyes. Isn't that right, Officer? Let's go fill out those TPS reports, so we can go recharge the power coils.

[Valin Hess treats Mando and Migs Mayfield to a drink for bringing a new rhydonium shipment]
Valin Hess: So what shall we toast to, boys? I can blather on about “To health” or “To success,” but I’d like to do somethin’ a little less rote. Where you from, Brown Eyes?
Migs Mayfield: How ’bout a toast to Operation CINDER?
Hess: Now there’s a man who knows his history.
Mayfield: No, I don’t just know it. I lived it. I was in Burnin Konn.
Hess: Burnin Konn?
Mayfield: Mmm.
Hess: That was a hard day. I had to make many unpleasant decisions.
Mayfield: Yes, you did. Entire city gone in moments, along with everybody in it. We lost our whole division that day. Man, that was like 5-10,000 people.
Hess: Yep. All heroes of the Empire.
Mayfield: Yeah. And all dead.
Hess: Well, it’s a small sacrifice for the greater good, son.
Mayfield: Depends on who you ask, don’t you think?
Hess: [irritated] What you gettin’ at, trooper?
Mayfield: All those people, the ones who died, was it good for them? Hmm? Their families? The guys I served with? Civilians, those poor mud scuffers, died defendin’ their homes, fighting for freedom. Was it good for ’em?
Hess: But we’ve outlasted them, son. They’re eatin’ themselves alive. The New Republic is in complete disarray, and we grow stronger. You see, with the rhydonium you’ve delivered, we can create havoc that’s gonna make Burnin Konn just pale by comparison. And then they’re gonna turn to us once again. You see, boys, everybody thinks they want freedom, but what they really want is order. And when they realize that, they’re gonna welcome us back with open arms. Ah. To the Empire.
[Mayfield chuckles, then fires a blaster at Hess' chest, killing him instantly. He and Mando then shoot their way out of the mess hall]
Mayfield: You did what you had to do. [hands him a stormtrooper helmet] I never saw your face.

[Moff Gideon receives a holomessage from Mando]
The Mandalorian: Moff Gideon. You have something I want. You may think you have some idea what you are in possession of, but you do not. Soon, he will be back with me. He means more to me than you will ever know.

Chapter 16: The Rescue [2.8] edit

[The Mandalorian and Cara Dune board an Imperial Shuttle carrying Dr Pershing]
Shuttle Pilot: Easy, pal. Okay? I’m not with him. We can work something out - [co-pilot kills him]
Cara Dune: Drop your weapon.
Shuttle Co-Pilot: [holds Dr Pershing hostage] No. No, you listen to me. This is a top-tier target of the New Republic. This is a clone engineer. And if they find out that he’s dead because of you, you’re gonna wish you never left Alderaan. [notices Dune's face] I saw the tear. You wanna know what else I saw? I saw your planet destroyed. I was on the Death Star.
Dune: Which one?
Shuttle Co-Pilot: You think you’re funny? Do you know how many millions were killed on those bases?
Dune: Drop your blaster.
Shuttle Co-Pilot: As the galaxy cheered?
Dune: [coldly] Last chance.
Shuttle Co-Pilot: Destroying your planet was a small price to pay to rid the galaxy of terrorism. [Dune shoots him in the face. Dr. Pershing reels from the close hit, clutching at his ear]

Bo-Katan Kryze: I will kill the Moff and retake what is rightfully mine. With the Darksaber restored to me, Mandalore will finally be within reach.
The Mandalorian: Help me rescue the Child and you can have whatever you want. He is my only priority.

Koska Reeves: An X-wing.
Cara Dune: One X-wing? Great, we're saved.

[The Mandalorian brings Moff Gideon and Grogu to the bridge, with Darksaber in hand]
Bo-Katan Kryze: What happened?
Cara Dune: He brought him in alive, that’s what happened. And now the New Republic’s gonna have to double the payment.
Moff Gideon: That’s not what she’s talking about. Why don’t you kill him now and take it? It’s yours now.
The Mandalorian: What is?
Gideon: The Darksaber. It belongs to you.
The Mandalorian: No... [offers it to Bo-Katan] it belongs to her.
Gideon: She can’t take it. It must be won in battle. In order for her to wield the Darksaber again, she would need to defeat you in combat.
The Mandalorian: I yield. It’s yours.
Gideon: [smug] Oh, no. [laughs] It doesn’t work that way. The Darksaber doesn’t have power. The story does. Without that blade, she’s a pretender to the throne.
Kryze: He’s right.
The Mandalorian: Come on, just take it.
Gideon: Well, perhaps she’ll get another crack at it.

[a man in black had just flown in into Moff Gideon's Arquitens cruiser, destroyed the Dark Troopers, and reached the bridge. The man takes off his cloak, revealing himself as Luke Skywalker]
The Mandalorian: Are you a Jedi?
Luke Skywalker: I am. [to Grogu] Come, little one.
The Mandalorian: [sees Grogu hide behind a seat] He doesn’t want to go with you.
Skywalker: He wants your permission. He is strong with the Force, but talent without training is nothing. I will give my life to protect the Child... but he will not be safe until he masters his abilities.
The Mandalorian: [holds Grogu and brings him to Luke] Hey, go on. That’s who you belong with. He’s one of your kind. I’ll see you again. I promise. [Grogu touches Mando's helmet, prompting him to reveal his face to him. Grogu touches his face and Mando gets teary-eyed] All right, pal. It’s time to go. Don’t be afraid.
[Grogu holds on to Mando's leg until R2D2 appears. Grogu comes up to R2, and they are comfortable with each other. Grogu opens his arms for Luke to carry him]
Skywalker: May the Force be with you. [Grogu takes one last look back as he leaves with Luke and R2]

Season 3 edit

Chapter 17: The Apostate [3.1] edit

[Grogu has picked up one of the Anzellan droidsmiths repairing IG-11]
Anzellan: No! No! No! No! No! No, down, down!
The Mandalorian: No! Grogu! He's not a pet!
Anzellan: No squeezie! Not squeeze, not squeeze! [The Mandalorian frees the Anzellan from Grogu's grasp] Bad baby. Oh, he's a bad baby.
The Mandalorian: Sorry about that. He's young.
Anzellan: Yeah, bad baby. Oh!
[Grogu reaches for the Anzellan]
The Mandalorian: No, Grogu!

[Mando and Grogu visit Bo-Katan Kryze's castle in the Mandalore system planet of Kalevala, and she's not too welcoming of him]
The Mandalorian AKA Mando: I am going to Mandalore so that I may bathe in the Living Waters and be forgiven for my transgressions.
Bo-Katan Kryze: You are a fool. There's nothing magic about the mines of Mandalore. They supplied beskar ore to our ancestors and the rest is superstition. That planet has been ravaged, plundered, and poisoned.
Mando: You said that the curse was a lie. Make up your mind.
Kryze: If you want to go to the mines, be my guest. They're beneath the civic center in the city of Sundari.
Mando: Thank you. And I will find out if the planet is really poisoned.
Kryze: Goodbye, Din Djarin.

Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore [3.2] edit

[Having saved Mando from a biomechanical droid, Bo-Katan Kryze joins him in going to the Mandalorian mines and the Living Waters]
Bo-Katan Kryze: Here you go. The Living Waters. [sees Mando try to walk off] Hold on. I want you to get the full tour. [reads plaque] "These mines date back to the age of the first Mandalore. According to ancient folklore, the mines were once a Mythosaur lair. Mandalore the Great is said to have tamed the mythical beast. It is from these legends that the skull signet was adopted and became the symbol of our planet." This is it. [sees Mando beginning to wade] Din? Are you all right?
Mando: [reciting the Creed] I swear on my name. And the names of the Ancestors, that I shall walk the way of the Mand'alor... and the words of the Creed shall be forever forged in my heart... [suddenly drops out of sight]

Chapter 19: The Convert [3.3] edit

[Dr Pershing addresses an audience in Coruscant]
Dr Pershing: I appreciate you letting me speak here tonight. The Amnesty Program saved my life. There are many of us who had no choice in working for the Empire, but now, the New Republic has given us a second chance. So thank you. I believe that pursuit of knowledge is the most noble thing someone can do. Sadly, my research was twisted into something cruel and inhumane, at the behest of a desperate individual intent on using cloning technology to secure more power for himself. But despite the shameful work of my past, I now hope to help the New Republic in whatever way I can. Though that work is now behind me, and I regret what I did, I assure you that my original intentions were good. When I was young, I lost my mother, the person who I admired most. [nervous] Her... Her heart gave out. Had simple organ cloning been available on my homeworld, her death would have been easily preventable. It was then that I vowed to make it my life's work to help others avoid such needless loss. Thanks to the groundbreaking work of the Kaminoans, we know that cloning can duplicate an individual from a single genetic strand. What my work explored was the hopes of combining multiple strands to create replicas that incorporated the best genetic attributes of both donors.

[Former Imperial communications officer Elia Kane, AKA Officer G68, has turned in Dr Pershing to New Republic security for indoctrination after they got caught in the shipyards]
New Republic official: I thought he was doing so well. You've done the right thing.
Elia Kane/Officer G68: Thanks. I know this will help him.
New Republic official: It will. You are a real credit to this program. It's nice to know that for every failure, there's a success like you.

[Mando returns to the Mandalorian covert with Bo-Katan Kryze along for the ride after they witness the Empire bomb her castle, and is forced to present the Armorer with a vial of water from the Living Waters to prove he underwent redemption]
Armorer: [tests the vial of Living Water in the forge vat] He speaks the truth. These are indeed the Living Waters. Din Djarin, you are redeemed. This is the Way.
Mandalorians: This is the Way.
Armorer: And Bo-Katan Kryze, by Creed, you too are redeemed.
Bo-Katan Kryze: But I do not walk the Way.
Armorer: Did you bathe in the Waters?
Kryze: I did.
Armorer: And have you removed your helmet since?
Kryze: No, I have not.
Armorer: Then you may join our covert and live as your ancestors once did. You may leave anytime you wish. Until then, you are one of us. Welcome, Bo-Katan of Clan Kryze. This is the Way.
Mandalorians: This is the Way.

Chapter 20: The Foundling [3.4] edit

[Bo-Katan Kryze and Mando's team have successfully rescued Paz Viszla's son Ragnar and also brought along the now-orphaned hatchlings of the raptor that kidnapped Ragnar. She visits the Armorer to have a replacement pauldron made]
Armorer: I can replace what's missing, but not with its modern refinements. Shall I inlay the signet of the Nite Owl?
Bo-Katan Kryze: Would it be acceptable to wear one pauldron of the Nite Owl and another with the Mythosaur?
Armorer: The Mythosaur belongs to all Mandalorians. It is always acceptable to wear.
Kryze: I would like that. [as the Armorer forges the new pauldron] What would you say if I told you I saw one?
Armorer: That you saw what?
Kryze: A Mythosaur.
Armorer: I would say you're very lucky. It is a noble vision.
Kryze: No, I... I mean a real one. Beneath the Living Waters on Mandalore.
Armorer: When you choose to walk the Way of the Mandalore, you will see many things.
Bo-Katan: But it was real.
Armorer: This is the Way.

Chapter 21: The Pirate [3.5] edit

[The Mandalorian brings together the entire Mandalorian covert after Carson Teva makes a surprise visit and asks him to help Greef Karga's situation on Nevarro when the New Republic won't lift a finger]
Mando: Now, many of you don't know Greef Karga. And those that do fought against him when you rescued me from his ambush many cycles ago on the streets of Nevarro. Since then, he's had a change of heart and has risked his life to save mine as well as the Foundling in my charge. [Grogu coos] I stand before you to petition an intervention. To help rescue Nevarro before it's too late. I am in no position to ask any more of you. However... However, the enemy that decimated this very covert were Imperials, not Greef Karga's bounty hunters. Greef Karga is now a High Magistrate and has offered me a tract of land on his independent world. Perhaps it is time for us to live in the light once again on a planet where we are welcome. So our culture may flourish and our children can feel what it is to play in the sunlight.
Armorer: Does anyone else wish to speak?
Mando: It's up to them now.
Paz Vizsla: I do. I was there on Nevarro that night. I fought against Greef Karga and his hunters. I saw my brothers and sisters fall at the hands of the Imperial butchers that hunted us in the sewers. I saw many die to save the life of [gestures to Grogu] this one, tiny Foundling. And now we are asked to sacrifice yet again. The question we should be asking ourselves is, "Why? Why should we lay our lives down yet again?" Because we are Mandalorians. I have had my disagreements with this man, but he risked his life to save my son. And Bo-Katan Kryze did not give up on my child's life even when the rest of us did. These two are asking us to take up arms in the name of a brighter future, and I for one will take up arms to fight by their side. [Mandalorians agree] This is the Way.
Mandalorians: This is the Way.
Armorer: This is the Way.

[After the Mandalorians and the Nevarro residents defeat the pirates, the Armorer has allowed Bo-Katan Kryze to remove her helmet, and they walk out to the sight of the Mandalorians]
Armorer: Bo-Katan Kryze is going off to bring other Mandalorians in exile to us so that we may join together once again.
Paz Vizsla: But she shows her face. [Mandalorians grumble, knowing a Mandalorian cannot remove their helmet by Creed]
Armorer: Bo-Katan walks both worlds. And she can bring all tribes together. [Paz Viszla looks at Mando, who nods in agreement] It is time to retake Mandalore.

[Carson Teva chances upon a derelict Imperial Lambda-class shuttle and crosschecks its identity with the Adelphi Rangers]
Lt Reed: [analyzing R7 drone cam footage] It's a New Republic prison transport.
Carson Teva: Check the departure times.
Reed: I'll be damned. Flight times match the ship transporting Moff Gideon.
Teva: I knew it. He never made it to trial.
Reed: There don't appear to be any survivors. And Moff Gideon's body is missing.
Teva: This was an extraction.
Reed: Who were the perpetrators?
Teva: Scanning. I'm only seeing the remains of the flight crew. There appears to be something embedded in the cabin wall. Get in close on that. [droid beeps] It's a fragment of beskar alloy.
Reed: Wait, are you saying that Moff Gideon was taken by... Mandalorians?

Chapter 22: Guns for Hire [3.6] edit

[Mandalorian privateers aboard an Arquitens-class corvette trap and board a Quarren ship carrying a Mon Calamari prince. Koska Reeves leads the arresting party.]
Koska Reeves: Come with us, Prince.
Mon Calamari Prince: [to Quarren girlfriend] You can do this. I'll see you again.
Reeves: It's a long ride home.
Mon Calamari Prince: I thought Mandalorians were honorable.
Reeves: [as her crew leads the prince out of the bridge] We are, kid. All it takes is a few credits.

[on Plazir-15, Bo-Katan and Mando pin down the source of the malfunctioning droids]
Bo-Katan Kryze: Commissioner, we have some questions for you.
Commissioner Helgait: Sorry, I have to check the data farm for anomalies.
Din Djarin AKA The Mandalorian/Mando: We know about the Nepenthé. And the nano-droids.
Kryze: They didn't malfunction. You programmed them to disrupt and attack.
Mando: You're coming with us.
Helgait: [stands up and readies to press the droid killswitch] Everyone, freeze! If I trigger this failsafe, it will convert the planet's docile workforce back into battle droids and unleash them upon the unsuspecting citizens of Plazir! Don't make me do it.
Kryze: There's no way out, Commissioner. Give yourself up.
Helgait: Give up? I never give up. I didn't give up to the corrupt Republic, I didn't give up to the Empire, and I won't give up to you.
Kryze: You're a Separatist?
Helgait: Separatist is a pejorative term. I support democracy. Count Dooku was a visionary. He was cut short in his prime by the Jedi enforcer... [subdued by Kryze's taser dart]
Kryze: [to Mando] Politics.

[Bo-Katan Kryze has successfully taken down Axe Woves in a leadership challenge but he doesn't want to accept defeat knowing Mando has the Darksaber and she doesn't]
Mando: Then she shall have it. This belongs to you.
Bo-Katan Kryze: It's not a gift to be given, no matter how well intended.
Mando: It's not a gift. While exploring Mandalore, I was captured. And this blade was taken from me. Bo-Katan rescued me and slayed my captor. She defeated the enemy that defeated me. Would this blade then not belong to her? Would it not belong to her?
Axe Woves: It would.
Mando: I return this blade to its rightful owner. [gives Bo-Katan the Darksaber]

Chapter 23: The Spies [3.7] edit

[On Mandalore's surface, Bo-Katan's team joins a group of Mandalorian holdouts aboard a skiff. One of them laments their survival during the Night of a Thousand Tears and how they did not surrender to the Empire]
Bo-Katan Kryze: That's not true. I did surrender. [signals Koska Reeves to quiet down] After our forces were annihilated in the Night of a Thousand Tears and defeat was imminent, I met with Moff Gideon. The ISB had reached out to me to negotiate a cease-fire. In exchange for submitting to the Empire and disarming, all remaining cities and Mandalorian lives were to be spared. That is how Moff Gideon came to possess the Darksaber. I didn't trust him, but it was the only chance I had to save our people. And then he betrayed me and we were helpless to resist the Purge of Mandalore.
Survivor Captain: [referring to Mando and the Armorer] How did these others survive?
Armorer: We were hidden on the moon of Concordia.
Survivor Scout: Are you Death Watch?
Armorer: Death Watch exists no longer. It shattered into many warring factions.
Kryze: Our people have suffered time and again. From division and squabbling factions. Mandalore has always been too powerful for any enemy to defeat. It is always our own division that destroys us.

[The Mandalorians are ambushed by beskar-enhanced Imperial Stormtroopers and in their rush to fight their way out, chance upon an Imperial cavern base, just before blast doors separate Mando from them. The Stormtroopers take him down and a certain man in black armor and a Mandalorian-style helmet appears. It's Moff Gideon]
Moff Gideon: Thank you for gathering the Mandalorians into one place. You were a talented people, but your time has passed. However, as you can see, Mandalore will live on in me. Thanks to your planet's rich resources, I have created the next-generation Dark Trooper suit forged from Beskar alloy. And the most impressive improvement is that it has me in it. You see, every society has something to offer. The cloners. The Jedi. And even the Mandalorians. By aggregating the best of each, I will create an army that will bring order to the galaxy. Why don't we take your fleet off the board while we still have the element of surprise. [to commlink] Activate the interceptors and bombers.
Bo-Katan Kryze: [see TIE Interceptors and Bombers launching] No!
Moff Gideon: In but a few moments, the Purge of Mandalore will be complete. [to Stormtroopers about Mando] Take him to the debriefing room.
Kryze: I should have killed you when I had the chance.
Moff Gideon: Bo-Katan. We have to stop meeting like this.
Kryze: I'll make sure of it.
Moff Gideon: Let's skip the pleasantries, shall we? I believe this is the part where you return the Darksaber to its rightful owner. Now, surrender the Darksaber, and tell these people that this planet is mine.
Paz Vizsla: This is the Way. [opens fire at the blast doors. Mandalorians follow]
Moff Gideon: [to Stormtroopers] Open the blast doors. Kill them.

Chapter 24: The Return [3.8] edit

[Moff Gideon is disappointed that Mando and Grogu trashed his clones]
Moff Gideon: My clones were finally going to be perfect. The best parts of me but improved by adding the one thing I never had. The Force. I was isolating the potential to wield the Force, and incorporating it into an unstoppable army. And you smothered them before they could draw their first breath.

[Having successfully reclaimed Mandalore and reactivated the Great Forge, the Mandalorians witness the Armorer baptize Ragnar Viszla at the Living Waters. Mando lines up Grogu for the ritual]
Mando: Grogu is my apprentice. He is no longer a Foundling. Add him to the Song.
Armorer: He is too young to speak so he is too young to take the Creed. He must remain a Foundling.
Mando: If his parent gave permission, couldn't he then become a Mandalorian apprentice?
Armorer: Yes, but his parents are far from here, if they are even alive.
Mando: Then I will adopt him as my own.
Armorer: This is the Way.
Mando: This is the Way.
Armorer: Let it be written in Song that Din Djarin is accepting this foundling as his son. [to Grogu] You are now Din Grogu, Mandalorian apprentice.
Mandalorians: This is the Way.
Armorer: You must leave Mandalore and take your apprentice on his journeys, just as your teacher did for you.
Mando: This is the Way.
