Rachel King edit

  • "Queen Bitch", huh? Sounds about right. Someone's got to wear the crown.
  • [While stuck with Clarice in the blood pit] I met Eric at climbing class. I can get us out of here.
  • [To Clarice] It's not easy being Queen Bitch. You think I got where I am with a soft word and a warm smile? [Clarice: And here's me thinking you Langley types grew up on Easy Street.] Easy Street? I had to graft to get here. You think it bothers me what people call me? I wear that shit like a fucking badge of honor. They've no idea the shithill I've climbed to just get where I am right now.
  • [If Eric let go of Rachel after a shootout with Dar] You weren't so loyal when you cut the rope.
  • [If Eric refused to let go of Rachel] You held on. I didn't.

Eric King edit

  • [In a car with Rachel on Little Hope] Semper fi! It means "always loyal". [Rachel: [Playfully] Get your feet off my dash, you hillbilly!]
  • [Observing a statuette of Pazuzu that he picked up] [Rachel: It's Pazuzu.] Pazu-who? [Rachel: Pazuzu. Do you not watch horror movies?] You should know the answer to that.
  • After the accident, I was at the lowest I'd ever been. I couldn't cope; couldn't function. And when I needed you the most, Rachel, when I needed you by my side? You left me. Caelus pulled me out of that pit.

Salim Othman edit

  • [If Jason does not shoot a running shepherd] No more killing.
  • My father once told me if something looks like shit and smells like shit, you don't have to taste it to know that it's shit.
  • In Sumerian myth, they say the souls of the dead went deep underground to the House of Ashes where they lived on dust, plagued by the demons of the underworld.
  • [nervously] I feel like our uniforms are getting in the way of what could be a beautiful relationship!
  • [Discussing how to fight against the vampires] We need a plan. [Jason: We fuck those things up and get the fuck out.] [Mockingly] Good plan!
  • [Reading about the bat monsters' origins] Then a tragedy fell upon them. Their great empire collapsed. Their music felt silent. And they turned on each other. What happened? A sickness? A madness? What turned them from architects into killers? Whatever it is, it twisted them. Now they're creatures of hate. Animals! Dead things! No one left to kill, so they slept and waited... They waited for us.
  • Listen. There was a man once who built his house on the bank of a river. When the floods came, his wall washed away. When the drought came, the water dried up and the man was thirsty. All day, the insects bit this man's flesh. Yet each night, he says to his wife "we have all the fish we can eat!" Your people chose this war, Jason.
  • [After the other survivors chant "oorah"] Oorah...? Hehe, hehehe... [Bursts into laughter] OORAH! [Continues to laugh] [Abruptly returns to a poker face]

Nick Kay edit

  • [If he and Eric are hostile and are the only survivors] They're all fucking dead. And you and me, we're fucking next! [Eric: Oh, shit! Here I was, thinking I was in the presence of a Marine. Turns out it's a second grader!] You fucking pencilneck! If you did your job properly, we wouldn't even be down here. [Eric: Yeah, you go ahead and blame everyone but yourself! The hell did Rachel see in you anyway?] Everything she couldn't find in you.
  • Wonder how many places like this we've bombed without a second thought... [Jason: These relics are better off in the dust.]
  • What's your problem? These people didn't ask for this war.

Jason Kolchek edit

  • Do you believe in God? [Eric: Absolutely not.] Well, start believing. We are under attack by... I don't know what. You wouldn't believe me even if I tried. Hell, I don't believe it and I was there.
  • Teach you to mess with a marine.
  • [If Jason chooses to be resentful of the Iraqi people] I don't remember them showing much respect for New York City, couple years back. [Nick: So now all brown people gotta suffer, that it?] That's not what I meant. You know me better than that.
  • [If Jason has a strong relationship with Salim] I stepped back into that hell to save Salim. That man was worth five of you people. Semper FUCKING fi!
  • [If Jason is not trusting of Salim] [Salim: You're going to need me a hell of a lot more than I'll need you.] Is that so? [smirks] [Salim: [puts hand on Jason's shoulder] I'll hold your hand, but I'm not cuddling you.] [Jason shoves Salim's hand away] [Salim: [raising hands] I have to draw a line somewhere!]
  • [About Salim] Single parent. Tough fucking gig.

Clarice Stokes edit

  • I can see you just fine from here, thanks.
  • [After Jason calls Rachel a queen bitch in front of Eric] Nice work, hotshot!
  • I hope the bandwidth can cope with the data. [Jason: I'll leave the techy stuff to you.] And I'll leave the heavy lifting up to you.
  • You're talking to a scientist. There's no such thing as luck. You should be thankful I was there to help you.
  • [Looking at a religious symbol on a cave wall] These people must have been in the valley a long time.
  • [About Target LZ] I don't know about you guys but something doesn't feel right about this place. [Merwin: Oh yeah? So is that this, uh, women's intuition I keep hearing about?] Yeah, you wanna find out what happens when you piss it off?
  • What is this place anyway? Looks like an old ballroom. [Jason: That's exactly what it is. I guess Saddam liked to get down on the dance floor.] Do you think if his dance partner stepped on his foot, it'd be an instant "off with her head"? [Jason: It wouldn't surprise me.] Maybe when we're done, I'll let you spin me around a little.
  • [Convulses and coughs profusely] [Rachel: [Steps back] Clarice? What did that thing do to you?] [In agony] Please... Please don't leave me down here alone!
  • [Rachel: You okay?] Yeah, just need a minute. [Rachel: A minute isn't gonna kill us.] Until it does.
  • [Rachel: God you look terrible.] [Sarcastically] Gee, thanks Rachel. You ever think about going into motivational speaking?
  • [About the medkit back at the temple] Do you really believe those medicines will help me?
  • [If Rachel is honest about the infection's severity] If it happens... if I turn... you have to kill me. [Rachel: If you turn, it won't be you I'm killing.]
  • [If Rachel asks about Clarice's profession] [Rachel: So, why did you become a physicist? I mean, you don't-] I don't look the type...? [Rachel: Well, you don't.] Oh should I be wearing nerd clothes? [Rachel: ...that's not what I meant. You just don't strike me as one.] Science was the furthest thing from what everybody thought I'd do. Something just for me. [Rachel: I know a little something about that.]
