Institution exercise instructor: [Shoves Eric's head with inmates doing jumping jack in exercise yard] You know why we still out here? It’s because of your bullshit!
Eric: Huh?
Eric: [Sits at table of Eric in institution mess hall] Hi.
Shelly: They don’t like you in here, do they?
Eric: No, not really. They have a thing about men and women not sitting together.
Shelly: I know. They told me.
Eric: I like your tattoo.
Shelly: Thanks.
Eric: “Laugh now. Cry later.”
Shelly: It’s kind of how things have been playing out for me.
Eric: Well, for me, it’s more like “cry now, cry later.”
Shelly: Wanna hear a joke?
Eric: Uh, I don’t know. Is it funny?
Shelly: Not really.
Eric: Great. Go for it.
Shelly: What kind of tea is hard to drink?
Eric: I don’t know.
Shelly: Reali-ty.
Eric: Yeah. Wow. Well, that’s... [chuckles] that’s something.
Shelly: I’ll keep working on it.
Institution staff: Hey, time for your group session.
Shelly: [Referring to warden] Here he comes, like fucking clockwork.
Eric: [Riding in pick up truck after flagging it down in forest] Who were those people?
Shelly: A former life.
Eric: Right. Got one of those.
Shelly: I bet you do.
Eric: [Walking through opulent apartment in Chicago] Jesus, this is crazy.
Shelly: It’s my friend’s place. He lives in Antigua. Lets me crash here sometimes.
Eric: So, um... what now?
Shelly: You know, you don’t have to stay. Maybe it’s safer if you don’t.
Eric: I want to stay.
Shelly: Okay. Well, then, we’ll hide out here for a while.
Eric: And then what?
Shelly: We’ll hide somewhere else. Just figure it out.
Eric: Good plan.
Shelly: It is a good plan. You stink, dude.
Eric: I’m sorry. [Chuckles] Do you mind if I use the shower? [They passionately kiss]
Shelly: Not yet. [They then proceed to make love]
[Eric and Shelly are smoking in the bathtub]
Eric: Pretty good. [Both laugh]
Shelly: What’s the first thing you liked about me when you saw me?
Eric: What’s, um... [both laugh] there’s like an aura about you. It feels powerful. What’s the first thing you liked about me?
Shelly: I thought that you were quite brilliantly broken.
Eric: You are. [Shelly chuckles] What’s the, um... what’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?
Shelly: I once escaped rehab with a complete fucking degenerate. [Both laughs] Probably the best thing I’ve ever done. Hmm. Wait, I just remembered something. [Scrapes aside cupboard and opens a wall safe taking out a box]
Eric: You have a secret stash here? [They sit on floor] All right.
Shelly: [Takes out a bag of pills] Hello. Aha.
Eric: Those are the ones? [Puts pill on his tongue]
Shelly: Hmm-hm. Lamb of God. [Drinking wine] Stop looking at me or [pokes his chest tattoo] I’ll poke your eye out.
Eric: Poke out my eye?
Shelly: Hmm-hm. You don’t need that. You’ve got me now.
Eric: [In Crow Purgatory] Where am I? What is this place?
Kronos: You’d think they’d come up with something better, wouldn’t you? But you know, they don’t expect us to linger. How long we stay here is entirely up to you.
Crows: [Echoes] ...we stay here is entirely up to you.
Eric: What the fuck is happening to me?
Kronos: [Puts hand on Eric's left shoulder] People once believed when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it... and the soul cannot rest.
Eric: What are you talking about?
Kronos: The crow will guide you to put the wrong things right.
Eric: What do you mean? [Walks away] Oh, fuck this. This isn’t real. [Kronos laughs] You stay the fuck away from me.
Kronos: There’s nothing there but here.
Eric: This is all just a fucking nightmare. This is just a fucking nightmare.
Kronos: [Appears in front of him with hand on Eric's chest] Then go wake up. [Pushes Eric backwards into puddle]
Eric: The sadness is killing... [He wakes up in mafia loft]
Shelly: [Sits on Eric in tattoo receiving chair wrapping arms around him] My turn.
Tattoo artist: Come on, Shelly. You don’t respect my art.
Cop: [Wandering mafia loft] I’m here. What am I looking for exactly?
Marion: Her cell phone.
Cop: All right.
Marion: We looked, but we were interrupted.
Cop: What’s on it?
Marion: You don’t need to know. Just find it.
Cop: All right. All right. You can come out, boy.
Eric: Who are you?
Cop: I’m a cop. Here. Come on.
Eric: Okay.
Cop: It’s okay. Drop that. Drop that. Yeah.
Eric: [Drops knife] Listen, I think I’m going crazy. I don’t know what’s real or not anymore. I just think something really bad has happened with my girlfriend- [Cop shoots Eric]
Cop: [Disgusted with self] Fuck. [Eric gets back up] What the fuck? [They fight with Eric finishing off the cop by stabbing him]
Eric: She’s dead, isn’t she? We’re both dead.
Kronos: I’m afraid so.
Eric: What are you? Some kind of angel?
Kronos: [Laughs] Do I look like an angel?
Eric: I don’t understand. Why am I here and she isn’t?
Kronos: You’re not gonna like the answer.
Eric: Just tell me.
Kronos: She’s on her way down. To a place far worse than this.
Eric: You said I could make the wrong things right. What does that mean?
Kronos: The one who killed you is not supposed to be in your world. They made a deal with the devil to gain eternal life by sending the innocent to hell. That’s not balance. Kill them. Kill them all. And you get your lives back.
Eric: You’re saying I can get her back?
Kronos: Yeah. Kill the ones who killed you, and you will get her back.
Eric: When I was up there, I got shot.
Kronos: And it taught you something, didn’t it?
Eric: What I, um... I can heal? I can’t die?
Kronos: Your body? No. Feel pain? Yes. If your love remains pure, you cannot die.
Eric: How am I supposed to trust you?
Kronos: [Puts arms across Eric's back] Do you have another choice? Are you ready? [Pushes Eric into puddle]
[Eric knocks on apartment door]
Chance: [Opens door with chain on] Holy shit. [Opens door entirely] Eric, what the fuck?! [Hugs hum] Where have you been? Everyone thought you was dead.
Eric: Everyone was right.
Chance: Very funny. Just come inside.
Eric: I need your help, man.
Chance: What do you need?
Eric: [Sitting on couch] I need a gun.
Chance: [Sitting on chair] A gun. Eric, what... what are you gonna do with a... you know what, it’s not my... you’re going to need these. [Pours bullets into Eric's hand]
Eric: [Sophia gets in limo with Eric] I’m a friend of your daughter’s. We need to talk.
Sophia: Who was after her? Why did you come for her that day? I saw you there with the people who killed her.
Eric: What are you talking about? It was an overdose.
Sophia: How would you know?
Eric: Because I was there.
Sophia: You don’t understand who you’re dealing with.
Eric: I loved her. I need to know who these people are because I’m going to kill them. Every single one of them. And I’m gonna bring her back.
Sophia: She’s not coming back. My baby’s gone. She’s gone. And she’s not coming back. [Shatters pitcher on floor and collapses to floor] Please leave me. Just stop. She’s gone.
Dorm: [Eric grabs him walking in warehouse] Fuck. I’m just... don’t hurt me, man. Please.
Eric: Why the fuck not?
Dorm: I didn’t do anything, man.
Eric: I saw you.
Dorm: What?
Eric: In the club.
Dorm: You brought them to us.
Eric: No, no. I was just trying to get her out. I was just trying to help her get away, man.
Dorm: Get away from what? Huh? That woman who was after her, who is she?
Eric: Who, Marion? No. No. She’s just part of it. She just works for him.
Dorm: Who are you talking about? Who?
Eric: His name is Vincent Roeg, man. He used to have us over to party. I thought it was just an easy place to score. That shit got so dark. He made it so dark. He’s got this voice, man. Voice. He... burrows inside you. Finds the darkest parts of your soul and gives them a voice. And it just gets louder and louder until you do something evil. I still hear it. I never would have made that fucking video if I’d known what would have happened, man.
Eric: What video? Where is it?
Dorm: Shelly had it on her phone. Said she had it hidden. She didn’t want anyone to see it. I tried to warn her, but she wouldn’t leave without you. I knew Shelly a long time. When I saw the way she looked at you, something was different. I tried to do something right, man. I just fucked it up. I’m sorry. They won’t be far behind me. You do what we couldn’t do.
Eric: Get the fuck out.
Dorm: Thanks, man.
Thug: [Eric points gun at him through vehicle window] I fucking killed you.
Eric: Yeah. You did. Don’t move. [Shoots him]
Eric: [Talking about Shelly] I loved her, you know? I loved her like an ocean loves water.
Chance: An ocean is water.
Wickham: [To thug over Eric's body in bathtub] What the fuck have you done?
Eric: [In the Crow purgatory] Why am I back here?!
Kronos: You couldn’t see it through.
Eric: Hey! Why, [walks after Kronos] why did I stop healing?!
Kronos: I said your love needed to remain pure. The enemy of love is not hate. It’s doubt.
Eric: I never doubted her!
Kronos: Didn’t you? You had a chance and you wasted it. You were given the power of a god. In the end, you were just a boy. At least your soul can move on. [Puts hand on Eric's left shoulder] Her soul is gone forever into the darkness. For you, eternity is easy. You just have to breathe. And let her go.
Eric: I can’t.
Kronos: I’m sorry. [Walks away]
Eric: Mine for hers. [Walks up to Kronos] My soul for hers.
Kronos: Her soul is damned. The place she’s going, you can’t imagine it.
Eric: It’s not about me.
Kronos: Even if you save her, you will never be with her again.
Eric: I know. Now let me do this.
Kronos: [All crows start swarming circularly] It’s not up to me. There is no going back from this. [Cuts hand with knife and then clasps Eric's hand tightly with blood becoming black then pouring out Eric's eyes and then Kronos smears the blood over Eric's eyes and down cheeks] With this black blood, you will move between worlds, just like them. Go put the wrong things right. [Eric becomes revived in bathtub and then proceeds to finish all Wickham's thugs with shoutgun and bashes Wickham's head]
Vincent: You corrupt people. You can’t corrupt what’s not already there. A pearl. It’s a seed.
Eric: Hmm.
Vincent: Look at yourself. Look at what you’ve become. Those eyes. That face. Why would she want to be with you? You have no love left. Only hate. You fool. You don’t feel anything. Do you? You don’t feel any of it.
Eric: I feel it all. [Vincent whisper demonic inseminating spell]
Vincent: You have no love left. Only hate. She’s not what you thought she was.
Shelly: [Flashbacks] When I’m hard to love, love me harder. Love me harder. How many people have you loved? Like seriously, seriously loved? Don’t leave me. I don’t want it to end. [Vincent ends up becoming Crow transformed, and they fight then smashing through window into Crow purgatory]
Vincent: [In Crow purgatory] What is this place?!
Eric: This is the place where it all ends. Where you pay for what you did to her... to all of them! Are you scared?! You should be! Oh, you stupid boy. Is this what you want?! You think she’s worth it?! All this?! Eternal hell?! For what?! For some fucking whore?! You have no idea what hell awaits you!
Eric: Yeah, I do! [Demons scratch Vincent's face and pull him under water]
Shelly: [Emerge from water, Eric brings her up and she gasps] Eric. I had this terrible dream. I was falling. I thought I’d lost you.
Eric: It’s okay, baby. It’s over. It’s all over. You get to go back.
Shelly: Eric... what have you done? I can’t come with you.
Eric: What? This was the only way.
Shelly: [She gasps from being shocked by defibrillation paddles in real life] No. I’m going with you. This isn’t the way it was supposed to end.
Eric: I would do it again. All of it. Every moment. [She gasps] I love you. Forever. [They passionately kiss]
Emergency medical technician/Kronos: [To Shelly after revival] Do you hear me? Yes. It’s okay. He fought hard for you.
Eric: Our love will live on in everything she does. Someday, I know... our souls will find each other again. Till then, I will have just the memory. That perfect sensation of loving her. And that’s enough. Almost enough.
