The Black Phone is a 2021 American horror film in which, after being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer's previous victims.

- Terence: You drop that, and I will beat your ass twice as hard. [Gwen drops the vodka bottle and it shatters on the floor, spilling vodka and Terence shoves Gwen face-down to the floor]
- Finney: NO, DAD!!!
- Terence: It was an $8 bottle of goddamn vodka! Oh, now, you listen to me! Listen to me! YOU... ARE NOT... YOUR MOTHER!!!!
- Gwen: [sobbing] I know.
- Terence: That means you do not hear things that are not there! You do not see things that are not there!
- Gwen: Okay!
- Terence: They're not there, Gwenny!
- Gwen: Okay.
- Terence: And your dreams, they're just fucking dreams. Do you understand me?
- Gwen: Yes!!
- Terence: Do you understand me?!
- Gwen: Yes!
- Terence: Say it! I want to hear you say it!
- Gwen: My dreams are just dreams!!
