Form a new section called Star Trek Movies
editThere are lots of quotes building up in Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generations. I propose we add a new section called Star Trek Movies and move all movies from both sections there. This is the most common way that other websites section off the franchise, such as the official site, startrek.com —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.161.28.75 (talk • contribs) 05:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- This suggestion has been superceded by events. All Star Trek shows and films now have individual articles, which is more in keeping with Wikiquote practice for substantive subjects. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:07, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Embedded comments in articles
editI've noticed some embedded questions in this article about content issues, like where a quote is from. Please do not embed comments and/or sign material in the article. This talk page the place to explicitly bring up such questions and comments, where editors can address them properly. Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:10, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- I had moved some stuff into embedded comments when an editor added several quotes to the "Unidentified episode" section but also mentioned an episode name. I couldn't verify that the quotes were from those episodes, so in the course of properly formatting the new additions, I tucked the possible sources into an embedded comment so that other editors would have something to go on. —LrdChaos (talk) 13:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup tag
editI've added {{cleanup}} to this article for several reasons:
- The custom TOC does not work.
- Inconsistent formatting of episode titles (some have WP links, some don't; some are italicized, some are not).
- Inconsistent usage of names (some have full names, some have only last names).
- Inconsistent use of links for names. Some go to Wikipedia, others to Memory Alpha. Which one they should go to is another issue, but all links should go to the same site.
With the exception of the TOC, most of these problems seem to be in Season 5. I've cleaned it up a little, but it still needs work. —LrdChaos (talk) 19:04, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Merger
editI support merger Star trek: Q into this article. --Aphaia 08:09, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I support merging Star trek: Q into this article as well. No offense intended to the creator of that article, but it isn't even correctly named. (It should be either "Q" or "Q (Star Trek)") All potential quotes are already covered with the other Star Trek articles. It also goes against traditional WQ guidelines for television series. --CALQL8 06:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have just done the official merge. I've added the quotes that were in Star trek: Q to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and I put in a redirect from there to here. --CALQL8 02:36, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
many of these quotes suck. they miss the point of quotes completely. instead of quoting meaningful bits from an episode, they quote mundane or (slightly) humorous things.
