- "Даахгүй нохой булуу хураах."
- Transliteration: Daakhgui nokhoi buluu huraakh.
- Translation: Hoarding bones he can't gnaw (in reference to a dog).
- Context: Here the "cannot gnaw" is implied to be due to the dog's teeth, the quality or the lack thereof. There is a verb here - "daakhgui" - that I do not know how to translate accurately.

- Transliteration: Udur aldaad shunu haikh.
- Translation: To search at night what was lost at day.
- English equivalent: (something about belatedness).
- Interpretation: One may easily interpret this proverb to mean unreasonableness or illogicalness. However, the proverb actually means belatedness because to lose something during the day, the loser had a clear view but the loser failed to "see" or was careless, and by the time the loser "saw" or "searched" the view was obscured and the loss difficult to recover/undo. Hence, the proverb refers to belatedness.

- English equivalent:
- Interpretation: The proverb is not so much about a preference for leadership as it is about free will. A tail, regardless of how magnificent a creature to which it belongs, has no free will and is controlled by the brain while the brain or the "head", regardless of how insignificant a creature to which it belongs, has nothing else that so evidently controls it. Therefore, the "head" has more "freedom" and hence, the proverb calls for more autonomy and possibly, influence.
