Lloyd deMause is not a psychologist. He spent some time in a doctoral program on political theory and took some courses at a psychoanalytic institute, but didn't finish his work at either place. He has strong connections with theorists of "primal" therapy and appears completely untutored in the facts of prenatal and early postnatal development.
